Little will help round out the Aggies infielder corps this
season. .. He has a .282 batting average in his career with the Aggies, with
102 hits in 108 games with 17 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 59 RBI
to his credit at N.C. A&T...He's very patient at the plate, and ranked
seventh in the conference in walks in 2011...Had 50 putouts and 14 assists last
season for A&T, with just six errors.
2011 Season: As a
sophomore, Little batted .274 with eight doubles, a triple, three home runs, 33
RBI and 40 runs in 55 games...He stole nine bases, walked 28 times and struck out
38 times...Ranked seventh in the MEAC in walks...Posted a season-high three RBI on
March 5 against Savannah State, March 22 at Davidson, and on April 17 against
UMES...Went 4x6 with a double, a home run and three RBI with four runs on March
22 at Davidson...It was the most number of hits and runs he collected in a single
game...Had a season-long seven-game hitting streak from May 7 to May 14.
2010 Season: As a
freshman, he batted .290 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs, 26
RBI and 46 runs in 53 games...He stole 14 bases, walked 26 times and struck out
36 times in 2010...Doubled in back-to-back games on April 2 and 3...Had a triple in
each game of a doubleheader against Florida A&M on April 2...Had a
season-high four hits on March 14 against N.C. Central and on April 3 against
Florida A&M...Went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two runs on March 14
against N.C. Central...Also had three hits on March 20 at High Point...Had a
season-long 13-game hitting streak from April 10 to April 27.
High School: Little
was an all-conference selection as a junior and senior in baseball and
football...Was named to the All-County team for baseball as a senior...Competed in
the State Games in baseball as a junior.
Personal: Full name is Dairio Chiffon Little...He is the
son of Dairio and Marie Little...Was born on July 27, 1991 and has three
siblings, Teron, Anthony and Desmond...Majors in sports science with a
concentration in pre physical therapy...Was named an A&T Scholar Athlete, and
was nominated for Freshman of the Year...Looks to have a career as a physical
therapist in a hospital rehabbing children and teenagers...Is involved in Student
Athletic Advisory Committee...Looks forward to wining the MEAC Championship
title this season.
