2014 Season: Played in 14 games with three starts…Batted .133 with two hits in 15 at-bats…Scored one run and drove in one run during the season…Was successfully in both steal attempts during the season…Made starts at Davidson (Mar. 9), at N.C. Central (April 5) and at home versus Winthrop (May 7)…Recorded a hit in his final game as a collegiate player when he singled against Winthrop on May 7.
2013 Season: Competed in 21 games with eight starts as a junior…Batted .077 with two hits in 26 at-bats…Scored six runs with one RBI, four walks and 11 strikeouts…Went 3-for-3 in stolen bases…Recorded six putouts and 17 assists…Recorded a walk, an RBI and a run scored against Elon on Feb. 20…Collected a single against Binghamton on March 8 and against Savannah State on May 10…Scored one of the winning runs in the 13-inning victory against Delaware State on May 15 in the opening round of the MEAC Tournament…Played second and third base, and also entered as a pinch runner in several contests… Named to 2012 Fall Dean’s List…Named to MEAC All-Academic Team.
2012 Season: Made five appearances on the mound…Posted an 0-0 record with a 7.27 ERA (7 ER/8.2 IP) as a sophomore…Harris allowed 12 hits with one walk and five strikeouts all season…He made his A&T pitching debut on Feb. 21, tossing one shutout inning with a strikeout…He pitched a season-high 3.0 innings on Feb. 29 and on April 10…He struck out a season-best three batters on Feb. 29 against Radford...Named to the Dean’s List.
2011 Season: As a freshman for the Aggies, he did not get a hit in 11 plate appearances…Played in 13 games with two starts… He scored four runs and stole a base as well…Had a season-high three at-bats on Feb. 19 at Campbell and on March 12 at High Point.
High School: Competed at the varsity level for three years at Southern Vance High School, Harris… Was named to the All-Conference Team for three straight years, and was the MVP as a junior and senior…He was named the Male Athlete of the Year as a junior…He was named to the Academic All-Conference team as a junior and senior…Also competed in football and basketball.
Personal: Full name is James Harris…Is the son of Kenneth and Shardene Harris…Has two siblings, Corey Kingsberry and Darrin Wilson… Was born on Oct. 30, 1991…Is a junior Graphic Communication Systems major…Spent the 2012 summer working out…His other interests include playing video games and reading…His favorite book is 50 Shades of Grey, his favorite television show is “Boondocks” and his favorite food is pizza…Harris says competing is the best part of being a student-athlete and the thing likes best about A&T is the education…His goal for the 2014 season is to win the MEAC Championship.
