Biography

Clark enters his junior season looking to provide depth for the Aggies from the bullpen...Enters the season with a career 1-1 record with two saves in 29 appearances…Has a career 5.64 ERA (43 ER/68.2 IP) with 56 strikeouts.

2013 Season: Made 13 appearances and finished the season with a 1-0 record and 6.75 ERA…Allowed 20 earned runs on 28 hits, 23 walks and 18 strikeouts in 26.2 innings…Picked up his first career win on Feb. 15 against Buffalo, tossing 2.2 shutout frames…Struck out a season-high five batters in a season-high 5.0 innings on March 19 against Appalachian State…Did not allow a run in 3.0 innings against UNC Greensboro on March 26…Pitched back-to-back scoreless appearances on April 23 and 30.

2012 Season:  Made 16 appearances and collected two saves for the Aggies in 2012…Finished the season with an 0-1 record and a 4.93 ERA (23 ER/42.0 IP) with 35 hits, 33 walks and 38 strikeouts…Was third on the team in strikeouts and saves…Made his A&T debut on Feb. 18 against Navy, tossing 2.1 shutout, hitless frames with four walks and four strikeouts…Pitched a season-high 5.1 innings on Feb. 24 against Temple, which was the longest outing by an A&T reliever all season…Struck out a season-high six batters in 3.0 innings on April 10 against Campbell…Tossed a scoreless inning on March 24 at Bethune-Cookman…Did not allow an earned run in three consecutive appearances from March 24-April 1 (7.2 innings of work)…Picked up his first career save on April 1 with 3.1 innings of scoreless, one-hit baseball at Savannah State, helping the Aggies to sweep the doubleheader against the Tigers…Picked up his second save in the MEAC tournament, allowing one run on three hits in 3.0 innings in an 18-1 win against Norfolk State.

High School: Competed at the varsity level four years at Flowers High School…Was named first-team all-county as a senior…Was the team captain his senior year…Also was a Science & Technology Graduate.

Personal:  Full name is Jamal Clark… He is the son of Thomas and Celeste Clark…Has one brother, Malik, who also played baseball for A&T… He was born on Sept. 14, 1993…His major is construction management…His other interests include reading and playing MLB 2K… His favorite book is Song of Solomon, his favorite television show is “24” and Crazy Core Skittles are his favorite food…Says the best part about being an A&T student-athlete is being able to compete at the NCAA Division I level.
