Whicker looks to add depth to the A&T bullpen again in 2014….Named to the Dean’s List as a freshman …Earned a 4.0 during the 2012-13 school year, one of only three A&T student-athletes to accomplish the feat.

2013 Season: Made 14 appearances and two starts in his freshman year…Finished the season with a 2-2 record and a 7.62 ERA…Allowed 22 earned runs with 17 walks and 20 strikeouts on 32 hits in 26.0 innings…Threw 3.0 shutout innings against Elon on Feb. 20…Picked up his first career win on March 13 in a 17-8 victory against Lehigh…Tossed four hitless, scoreless frames with a season-high five strikeouts for the victory…It was his longest outing of the season as well…Earned the win after allowing one run on three hits in 2.0 innings of relief against Bethune-Cookman on March 17…Made back-to-back hitless, scoreless appearances on April 23 and May 7.

High School: Played varsity baseball for four years…Played under Jack Moss at North Forsyth….Earned All-Piedmont 3A Conference and All-Forsyth County honors twice… Earned Best Defensive Player honors as a sophomore at Carver High School….At North Forsyth, he was the team MVP as a junior, and earned the team’s Best Pitcher award as a junior and senior…Over the final two years of his career he went 12-9 with 2.85 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 111.2 innings pitched…Was an honor graduate from North Forsyth and named a scholar athlete all four years of high school…Graduated with a 4.42 grade point average.

Personal: Full name is Timothy Kirby Whicker…He is the son of Tim and Kathy Whicker…Has one brother, Darian… He was born on Dec. 16, 1993…His major is criminal justice…His other interests include racing, fishing and weight lifting…His favorite book is Beyond Belief: Finding the Strength to Come Back, his favorite television show is “Gangland” and his favorite food is Japanese.
