Estarlin Paulino enters his senior season with a 21-13
career record and 4.16 career ERA. Paulino has struck out 229 batters in 263.2
innings, pitched nine complete games in 37 starts and made 50 appearances. He has been a fixture of the A&T starting
rotation since his freshman season, and one of the top pitchers in the MEAC
over the last two seasons. In 2011, ranked
first in the MEAC in innings pitched and strikeouts to complement his 2010
season where he was named MEAC Pitcher of the Year and first-team
all-conference.
2011 Season: Made 15 appearances with 14 starts his
junior year, compiling a 6-6 record with a 5.00 ERA in 99.0 innings...Ranked
first in the MEAC in innings pitched and strikeouts, and tied for fourth in
runners picked off...Was second on the team in ERA and wins, and first on the
team in innings pitched and strikeouts...He allowed 55 earned runs on 123 hits
with 15 walks and 90 strikeouts...Threw two complete games in 2011, one on Feb.
26 in the first game of a doubleheader
against New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the second on April 23 in the
first game of a doubleheader at Longwood...His first complete game was also a
shutout, in which he fanned nine batters and allowed just three hits...It was his
only shutout performance of the season...Struck out a season-high 10 batters on
March 5 against Savannah State and on April 30 at Delaware State...Did not walk
more than three batters in a single game all season...Had a three-game winning
streak from April 23 to May 7...Earned MEAC Preseason Pitcher of the Year Honors.
2010 Season:
Posted a 9-2 record with a 3.38 ERA in
17 games (12 starts) for the Aggies...Tossed 88.0 innings, allowing 33 earned
runs on 90 hits with 23 walks and 75 strikeouts...Named the 2010 MEAC Pitcher of
the Year and was named to the 2010 first-team all-conference list and 2010 MEAC
all-tournament team...Was also named to the 2010 NCCSIA All-State baseball team
(University Division)...Ranked first in the MEAC in ERA, opposing batting
average, and in innings pitched...Was second in the conference in strikeouts
and wins...Pitched a complete game three times in the season, on Feb. 19 against
Ohio, on April 24 against Savannah State, and on May 21 against Norfolk State...Made
three consecutive scoreless appearances, allowing just six hits in 10.0
scoreless innings of work from April 14 to April 20...Struck out a season-high 12
batters in 8.0 innings on April 17 at UMES...Did not allow more than four walks
in a game...Won five straight games from April 24-May 21.
2009 Season:
Started in 11 of his 18 games as a freshman, finishing the year with a 6-5
record and 4.11 ERA...Pitched 76.2 innings, allowing 35 earned runs on 78 hits
with 30 walks and 64 strikeouts...Ranked fourth in the MEAC in ERA and fifth in
opposing batting average...Finished first on the team in ERA, opposing batting
average, innings pitched and tied for first in wins...Pitched a season-high 8.0
innings on April 18 against Savannah State and fanned a season-high 10 batters
in the game...Won three consecutive games from March 17-29...Did not allow an
earned run from March 10-17 (3.2 innings of relief)...Collected the save on April
28 at UNC Greensboro, tossing 0.2 shutout innings.
High School: At
Southwest Guildford High, Paulino played two years of varsity baseball...He was
named the Co-Team MVP, and was an All-Area and All-Conference selection...Threw a
combined no-hitter (pitched five innings) and a perfect game in the same day,
and struck out a combined 20 batters.

name is Estarlin Abel Paulino...He is the son of Ableito and Saturnina Paulino...He
was born July 28, 1989 and has two siblings, Abel and Victor....Majors in pre-law
and history with philosophy minor...Is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic...Made
the Dean's List and he is a three-time A&T Scholar Athlete...Plans on
attending law school after graduation...His goals for the 2012 season are to win
the MEAC Pitcher of the Year Award and MEAC Championship.
