BURLINGTON, N.C. – North Carolina A&T finished the final round of the Elon Invitational hosted by Elon University on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,065-yard Alamance Country Club golf course. Senior Jayla Rogers had the Aggies best round of the day, shooting a 6-over 71 as she ascended three spots from Monday's first two rounds to finish in a four-tie for 35th.

A&T, playing in its first tournament of the season, finished ninth overall after shooting a three-round 78-over 930. Elon easily won the tournament with a 2-under 850. The Phoenix's closest competitor finished 25 shots off the lead as William & Mary shot a 23-over 875. UNC Greensboro finished third with an 879, followed by Gardner-Webb (888) and a fifth-place tie between Elon's 'B' team and Radford at 906.

Sophomore Vileska Gelpi led the Aggies throughout the tournament with a 17-over 230 to finish in a tie for 32nd. Elon's Ashley Lafontaine climbed five spots from Monday's result to win the tournament with a 2-under 211. She shot a 3-under 68 on Tuesday. William & Mary's Sarah Houle finished second with a 1-under 212.

Elon's Kanokwan Ngamwong and Lotte Fox finished in a tie for third at 1-over 214, and William & Mary's Grace Lu rounded out the top-5 with a 3-over 215.

Rogers started her day on the back nine and shot a 5-over 41, but she gathered herself to have a solid front nine. She began by birdieing the 366-yard, par-4 first. Two bogeys moved her to 6-over before Rogers birdied the par-5, 475-yard sixth to move to even par on the front nine. Unfortunately, she did bogey No. 8 to finish the front nine 1-over.

Sophomore Kennedi Lee shot a 9-over 80 in the final round to finish the tournament with a 22-over 235. Senior Kiaira Porter shot an 83 in the final round for a three-round 238. Freshman Tori Mouton finished her first collegiate tournament with an 86 in the final round.

A&T hosts the Aggie Invitational from Sept. 26-27 at Bryan Park.
