WESTON HILLS, Fla. — Despite a three-month break from competition, North Carolina A&T senior women's golfer Ekaterina Prokhorova picked up right where she left off.
Collecting tournament victories! Prokhorova won the 2026 Arcis Golf HBCU Classic on the 72-par 5,982-yard course at The Club at Weston Hills on Monday. As a result, she and her Aggie teammates also claimed another team title during the 2025-26 season, thanks to senior Tori Mouton pitching in with a top-five finish.
Mouton found herself near the top of the leaderboard with a 78-78-39-195 score for fourth place, recording her third top-five finish of the season.
Prokhorova put together a two-day, three-round 74-71-42-187 over 45 holes played on Sunday and Monday to edge Alabama State's Thayika Kittiyanaruewat by three strokes (190) to clinch her third win of the season and sixth top-five finish in a row.
Meanwhile, the Aggies took home their third tournament win of the season by putting together a 308-314-164-786 performance, just four strokes ahead of Howard University's 304-322-134-790and nine strokes ahead of Texas Southern, which finished with 799.
Prokhorova opened the tournament strongly on the back nine. She shot even on the par-4 360-yard No. 10, carded a birdie on the par-5 510-yard No.11, and kept the card clean from there except for a bogey on the par-4 360-yard No. 14.
She struggled to find a rhythm on the front nine, taking an extra stroke on three holes (No.1, No. 3, and No.6). However, she shot a birdie and five pars to balance out with a first round of 2-over 72. After opening the second round with a bogey on 10, she birdied 14 before slipping on No.16. Prokhorova found her consistent swing again, however. Prokhorova put together a smooth 10-hole stretch, highlighted by birdies on holes 1,4, and 6, to improve to a 1-under 71 round despite a closing bogey on the par-4 355- yard No. 9. The tournament concluded on Monday with a nine-hole outing, where Prokhorova won the event despite four bogeys and a double bogey on Monday.
Senior Ana Rodriguez contributed by posting 76-85-41-202, finishing 15th. Mia Truong finished five strokes behind at 81-84-42-207. Sofia Fernando finished with a score of 80-81-49-210. The Aggies won't have to wait long to get back in action. They will look to continue their success at the River Landing Golf Course in Wallace, NC, for the River Landing Classic, March 2-3.
