GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T women's golf has just completed its best season since the program's launch in 2016, drawing widespread recognition for its achievements.

The Black College Coaches Association (BCGCA) and the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) partnered to announce their 2025-26 postseason BCGCA HBCU Women's Awards, an honor that recognizes the top-performing HBCU women's golfers nationwide. The Aggies had a tremendous showing, with senior Ekaterina Prokhorova earning the prestigious HBCU Women's Player of the Year honors.

Prokhorova also claimed HBCU All-American honors, and senior teammate Tori Mouton received HBCU All-American honorable mention, highlighting their standout performance among HBCU athletes.

In addition, A&T director of golf, Mesha Levister, claimed HBCU Women's Coach of the Year in her first season leading both the women's and men's golf programs.

Prokhorova went on a record-breaking tear during the 2025-26 season, culminating in her becoming the program's first-ever all-conference performer after the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) named her to its first team on May 1. She played in 10 tournaments during the season, winning three, including the Bridgestone Invitational, the SAS Invitational, and the Arcis Golf HBCU Classic.

She also had a streak of seven consecutive top-five finishes, including two second places, one third, and two fourths. Her lowest finishes—12th and 16th place—were still in the top 20. The honors continued: CAA named her Women's Golfer of the Week three times. She set the program's 54-hole record with a 202 at the Bridgestone Invitational, which she won by 18 strokes—a program record. She tied the lowest round mark with a 67 and set the 36-hole program record at 135. She set a program record for most birdies in a round (7) and in a tournament (18). Prokhorova averaged 72.3 over 30 rounds, also a program best.

Levister became A&T's director of golf last June and led the women to three tournament wins—a program record. Although men's results did not factor into her award, her first year was notable as the men's team also won a record four tournaments.

Mouton had been a longtime staple of the Aggies' program, holding some of the records that Prokhorova broke this past season. She played in 12 tournaments during the season and completed 35 rounds. She had four top-five finishes, including a third-place finish at the 2026 PGA Works Collegiate Championship in May. During her career, she has had six top-five finishes and seven top 10 finishes.

She closed the 2025-26 season with a scoring average of 76.1.

The BCGCA awards honor college golfers from all backgrounds across Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These honors spotlight outstanding achievement in college golf and include HBCU Golfer of the Year, HBCU All-America Team, HBCU Outstanding Freshman of the Year, HBCU All-Freshman Team, and HBCU Coach of the Year, collectively recognizing athletic excellence and leadership in HBCU golf.
