Mouton, Prokhorova Place Third at PGA Works

The Aggies finish second at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship after winning the 2025 title.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The North Carolina A&T women's golf team ascended to finish second place at the 2026 PGA Works Collegiate Championship.

Two Aggies finished near the top of the individual leaderboard. Senior Tori Mouton surged six places up the rankings after following a two-round total of 79-77–156 with a stellar 1-under 70 final round to share third place at 13-over 226 with star Aggie senior and last year's individual champion, Ekaterina Prokhorova. Prokhorova, a first-team All-CAA standout and the first-ever all-conference performer in program history, climbed two places after carding a 76-75-75– 226.

This finish marked Mouton's fourth top-five finish of the season, and Prokhorova's eighth.

A&T sat in third place after a 319-308–627 first two rounds on Tuesday at the par-71, 5,806-yard The Park golf course. The team improved to a 15-over 299 in round three for a 74-over 926 total, pushing past Texas Southern University, which finished with 310-316-313–939.  Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi won the PGA Works title with a 65-over 917.
Thaiz Amezcua from Texas Southern University collected the individual tournament title with 74-76-73–223.

Mouton opened with a birdie on the par-5 502-yard first hole and played steadily early before a stretch of alternating scores. She bogeyed the par-3, 170-yard fifth hole, then responded with a birdie on the 325-yard par-4 sixth. She then took another extra shot on the par-3 158-yard seventh before carding four straight pars before getting to No. 12. She birdied the par-4, 362-yard 12th. Four more pars followed. She shot a four on the par-3 149-yard 17th but saved a stroke with a birdie on the 485-yard par-5 18th. This finished her best round of the tournament and one of her season's best.

Prokhorova opened with a birdie on No. 1, followed by two pars and a bogey on the par-4 fourth. She steadied with a par at No. 5 and four more pars. She struggled on the back nine, bogeying the par-4 10th and dropping shots at 12 and 13.

She double-bogeyed the par-3 17th and finished the tournament and season with a birdie on 18. Prokhorova's season included three wins, three CAA weekly honors, and rewriting the program record book.  

Senior Ana Rodriguez was next for the Aggies at 25-over 83-78-77—238. Junior Meeya Marquez, with 27-over 84-79-77—240, finished tied for 15th. Junior Sofia Fernando shot 29-over 81-78-83—242.
