SOUTHPORT, NC – North Carolina A&T has completed the first two rounds of the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Golf Championships at the par-72, 6,022-yard The Clubs at St. James golf course with the Aggies in seventh place, with a 68-over 644. The Aggies also have two golfers in the top 20 after the first two days, with seniors
Ekaterina Prokhorova and
Tori Mouton in a tie for 18th place.
UNC Wilmington leads after Saturday's second round with a 7-over 584. The Seahawks are two shots ahead of the College of Charleston Cougars, who finished Saturday at 9-over 586. Campbell is in third, five strokes back. The Fighting Camels shot 7-over each day for a total of 14-over 591 in the nine-team field.
Mouton entered the top 10 after Friday's opening round by shooting a 2-over 74. She slipped eight spots Saturday after carding a 9-over 81, giving her an 11-over 155 total. Prokhorova, who often finishes high in tournaments, shot a 5-over 77 in Round 1 for 18th place. She remained in 18th after Day 2 by shooting a 6-over 78.
UNCW moved up two spots and took the lead on Saturday by firing a 4-under 68 for a two-round total of 3-under 141. She holds a one-stroke lead over teammate Victoria Levy, who stands at 2-under 142. Campbell's Jade Potter and Charleston's Carys Fennessy share third at 1-under 143, and Campbell's Taylah Ellems completes the top 5 at 1-over 145.
Mouton's first round included a spectacular eagle putt at the par-5, 457-yard 17th. She went into the red for the first time in the tournament at the par-5, 481-yard seventh before a double bogey on eight moved her back on the plus side. She went to 4-over for the round after a bogey on the par-4, 14th, and a double bogey on the par-4, 16th. Mouton's eagle helped to salvage Round 1.
Prokhorova played the front nine at 4-over during her first round before recording her first and only birdie of the day, a three on the par-4, 323-yard 11th, to move to 3-over. She then added three more bogeys for a 38 on the back nine. Prokhorova started Saturday's play on the par-4, 362-yard 10th. After bogeying 12, she birdied the par-4, 312-yard 15th and then bogeyed 18 to make the turn at 2-over.
She started the front nine on a tough note, bogeying three and four before recovering with a three on the par-4, 367-yard fifth. She bogeyed both eight and nine to finish her second round. Senior
Ana Rodriguez produced the best round for the Aggies on Saturday.
Rodriguez shot a 4-over 76 on Saturday and holds 30th place with a 19-over 159 after two rounds. She began her day on the 10th with a double bogey and added bogeys on two of her next three holes before settling in. She then made four straight pars and birdied the par-4, 343-yard 18th to move to 3-over. After making the turn, she bogeyed the first two holes and carded her second birdie of the day with a four on the par-5 498-yard third.
After making three straight pars, she sank another birdie putt at the par-5 seventh. Rodriguez finished her day with a bogey on eight and a par on nine. Juniors
Sofia Fernando (85-86—171) and
Meeya Marquez (90-91—181) are also competing at the 2026 CAA championships. Golfers will tee off at 8 a.m. Sunday for the third and final round of the championships.
