GREENSBORO – Ekaterina Prokhorova continues her torrid start to the 2024-25 North Carolina A&T women's golf season. On Wednesday, Prokhorova became the first player in program history to win back-to-back weekly honors by securing Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) co-Women's Golfer of the Week.

Prokhorova finished in a fourth-place tie at this week's Elon Invitational hosted by Elon University at the par-71, 6,025-yard Alamance Country Club. Prokhorova shot a three-round, two-day, 1-under 212 on Monday and Tuesday for her third straight top 5 finish at a collegiate tournament.

The Russian native had won her previous two tournaments, last season's PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship to end the season and last week's Bridgestone HBCU Invitational to open the season.

During the Elon Invitational, Prokhorova shot a first-round 1-over 72 on Monday before recording her best round of the tournament, a 69 later that same day, aided by three birdies and only one bogey. She entered the third and final round on Tuesday in fourth place at 1-under par, two shots off the lead.

She got off to a fast start, shooting 3-under on her first eight holes to take the lead at the Elon Invitational. She was at 2-under after 14 holes played, but bogeyed two of her last four holes.

Prokhorova has played 108 holes this season and has shot 15-under 414 on those holes. She won CAA Women's Golfer of the Week the first time by breaking five program records and tying another. She and the Aggies return to action, Sept. 29-30, when they participate in the College of Charleston's Tot Hill Farm Invitational at the Tot Hill Farm course in Asheboro, NC.
