WALLACE, NC – The North Carolina A&T women's golf team participated in the two-day, three-round River Landing Classic Monday and Tuesday. The tournament was played at the par-72, 6,088-yard River Landing Golf Course.
The Aggies finished 10th overall, shooting a 114-over 978. A&T's lowest round came on Tuesday when they shot a 36-over 324. UNC Wilmington took the team crown by carding a 24-over 888. James Madison placed second, three strokes off the lead, by shooting a 27-over 891. High Point University had a third-place finish at 39-over 903.
Victoria Stutts had the lowest score for A&T on Tuesday, shooting a 4-over 76 to shoot 38-over 254 for the tournament. Senior Jayla Rogers had the lowest three-round score for A&T. She finished 39th with a three-round 17-over 233. Her lowest round came on Monday when she fired off a 1-over 73.
Kennedi Lee shot 82 in all three rounds to shoot a 246, placing 58th. Sophomore Vileska Gelpi and Kiaira Porter also participated this week for A&T. Gelpi shot 250, and Porter carded a 271.
Princeton's Yanjun Liu won the tournament by shooting an even-par 216. Marshall's Emily McLatchey finished one shot off the lead with a 1-over 217. James Madison's Kendall Turner (219), UNCW's Victoria Levy (220) and East Tennessee State University's Sophie Bert (221) rounded out the top-5.
