A&T Women's Golf Returns to Action

Vileska Gelpi is in ninth place after the first two rounds.

Jayla Rogers is in a tie for 15th place.

MILLS SPRING, SC – The North Carolina A&T women's golf team returned to action for the first time during the spring semester on Saturday in the Bright's Creek Women's Invite played at the par-72, 6,069-yard Bright's Creek golf course. 

The Aggies finished the opening two rounds in fourth place after shooting a 77-over 653. Presbyterian College leads the tournament with a 58-over 634. Evansville is second in the six-team tournament, five strokes off the lead with a 63-over 639. 

Sophomore Velska Gillespie leads the way for A&T in ninth place after shooting a two-round 16-over 160. She is 11 strokes off the leader, Presbyterian's Sarah Boteler, who shot a 5-over 149. Gardner-Webb's Neza Siftar is four strokes off the lead at 9-over 153. Prebyterian's Mariana Polakova (154), GWU's Katelyn Griggs (156) and Evansville's Mallory Russell (157) round out the top-5. 

Kennedi Lee is in a tie for 11th after shooting a two-round 19-over 163. Jayla Rogers is in a tie for 15th after shooting a 22-over 166. The Aggies return to action on Saturday with an 8 a.m. tip for the start of the third round.
