Langley Earns Spot In All-Star Game

The Aggies all-time leader in assists, steals and minutes played will compete for Team McClendon.

EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men's basketball legend Kameron Langley's historic collegiate career ended last month.

He hopes his next competitive dribble is for a professional team. The HBCU All-Stars selected Langley to play in the inaugural HBCU All-Star Game.

Two 12-member teams, named after a pair of historically black college or university (HBCU) legends in John McClendon and Clarence "Big House" Gaines, will comprise the top players from the four HBCU NCAA Division I and Division II conferences.

Players from schools such as A&T, Tennessee State and Hampton, who do not play in HBCU conferences, will be considered Division I Independents.

Langley will be on Team McClendon and has one Big South teammate in Hampton forward Najee Garvin. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) make up the rest of the team. Players from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and Tennessee State will be Team Gaines.

It's no secret that Langley had success in his five years at A&T. From leading the country in assists per game (8.0) in 2019-20 to scoring his 1,000th-career point against USF this past November, he has accomplished just about everything a college basketball player can individually.

In 148 games played, Langley gathered four school career records – minutes played (4,399), assists (902), steals (279) and assists per game (6.1). He is a four-time all-conference selection and back-to-back BOXTOROW All-American (2019-21).

His 902 dimes are 14th all-time in NCAA history, and his 279 swipes sit 78th-most for a career in the NCAA.

The game is slated for Sunday, April 3, at the UNO Lakefront Arena, the same weekend as the NCAA Final Four. It will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
