NEWARK, Del. – North Carolina A&T men's and women's cross country teams finished the season at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship (CAA) Friday morning. The men finished ninth, and the women finished 11th at the White Clay Creek State Park.
The Aggie men scored 268 points. Stony Brook, running in its first CAA cross country championship ever, won the men's title by tallying 31 points to edge out Northeastern's 39 points. William & Mary finished third with 111 points, followed by Monmouth (117 points) and Hofstra (123 pts) to round out the top 5.
Jordan Richardson led the Aggie men individually by finishing the 8k event in 26:36.70 to place 43rd. Dawson Grogan finished in 29:23.30 to finish in 72nd place, and Abdiselam Green ran a 29:55.20, placing 74th.
Northeastern's Alexander Korczynski won the individual championship by finishing in 24:09.60. His teammate Benjamin Godish placed second in 24:10.90, followed by Hofstra's Abraham Longosiwa (24:17.10), Stony Brook's Carlos Santos (24:31.30) and Stony Brook's Robert Becker (24:38.80).
The women scored 335 points in the 6k event. The Elon Phoenix won its fourth straight CAA title by scoring 30 points. Northeastern finished runner-up with 49 points, Stony Brook placed third with 91 points, followed by William & Mary in fourth, collecting 106 points and Delaware in fifth with 117 points, rounding out the top 5.
Sophomore Fajr Kelly and senior Ayoola Gbolade led the Aggie women. Kelly placed second in 24:39.90, with Gbolade right behind her in 74th with a time of 24:40.90. Camille Herring was the third-fastest Aggie, finishing in 26:14.70.
