Both teams finished in 12th place.

CARY – The North Carolina A&T cross country teams continued their season after 17 days away from competition. On Friday, the Aggies women's and men's cross country teams competed at the Wake Med Soccer Complex at the adidas XC Challenge.

Both teams finished 12th on Friday. Senior Deavion Deleon led the women's efforts. The Division I transfer finished 33rd out of 144 competitors. Deleon completed the 5k event in 17:38.8, marking a personal record for Deleon in a 5k event after she ran a 17:48.8 on September 30, 2022, at the University of Nebraska.

Deleon found herself in 55th place after the first 1.25 miles of the event. After two miles, she found herself in 47th place before moving up 14 spaces when the race ended. Freshman Taysaun Wilson led A&T on the men's side.

Wilson finished 65th out of 155 runners who competed on Friday. He completed the 6k race in 19:47.8. The time is a personal record for the first-year runner, following his 20:19.2 at Elon's Friday Night Opener last month. He was in 49th place after the first 1.25 miles and 68th after the first two miles.

Freshman Aniyah Francis did not finish far behind her teammate with a time of 20:32.4. Friday marked Francis's first collegiate 5k run. Three more freshmen competed for the women on Friday, including Taylor Washington (21:54.0), Micah Nunn (22:17.1) and Kendall McPhatter (24:00.6).

Senior Abdiselam Green had the second-fastest time for the men. Green finished in 20:43.8. He ran a personal record of 19:55.4 last season at Elon. Sophomore Abishek Pradhan finished in 21:14.8 after running the first 1.25 miles in 9:52.1.
