NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (4-9): The Aggies dropped their latest game to longtime rival Howard, 79-57, in the inaugural Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic in Newark, N.J. last Saturday.

The Aggies have struggled to find a consistent lineup on their roster. Nine different players have made at least one start. They have also seen five players lead the team in scoring for a game. Junior guard Demetric Horton has led the team in scoring a team-high three times.

The Aggies have forced turnovers while taking care of the basketball. They have had fewer turnovers than their opponents 11 times this season, including the last eight. They are second in the Big South Conference in turnover margin with a plus-3.38 average. They have forced a league-high 211 turnovers from their opponents and average a league-best 9.15-steals per game.

Coach Jones is in his third season overall and second full season after taking over on an interim basis on Dec. 24, 2019. Jones has a 19-5 record against conference opponents and won the program's first regular-season conference title since 1990. He even earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) coach of the year honors in 2019-20. He is 29-24 (.547) overall as the Aggies head coach.

MID-ATLANTIC CHRISTIAN (2-5): The Mustangs are coming off a 91-62 loss at Carolina University on Dec. 11. This year, they are 0-2 against Big South teams with losses to Hampton (101-51, Nov. 9) and Longwood (93-47, Nov. 14).

Senior guard Kevin Fletcher is averaging a team-best 22.9 points per game and is the only Mustang averaging double-figures. He compiled 20 points on 7-for-21 shooting with five rebounds against Carolina. Fletcher also scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds the last time he faced the Aggies.

They are scoring 65.1 points per game while allowing 74.3 per night as a team. They have surrendered 100-plus points twice this season.

Allan Harris has been the head coach for Mustang men's basketball since 2015. He has compiled a 36-84 (.300) overall record in the six years since taking the position.

THE SERIES: A&T will face the Mustangs for the fourth time. A&T has won the previous three by a combined 149 points, including a 62-point (123-61) victory in their last bout on Jan. 3, 2020.

GAME NOTES:

  • The Aggies have been playing at the Corbett Sports Center for 40 years. They have a 303-193 (.610) overall record on their home floor.
  • A&T has won 41 games at home over the last five seasons and are 2-0 this year, while MACU is still winless on the road at 0-3.
  • A win on Tuesday would be the 30th for head coach Will Jones since taking over the program midseason in 2019.
  • In the Jan. 3, 2020 game against MACU, seven Aggies scored in double-figures, including Morrice (12), Maye (11) and Langley (10). Langley also had 11 assists in the contest.
  • Langley is 25th in career assists in NCAA history with 831. He needs three assists to move into 23rd.
