Aggies Look For Another MEAC Road Win

The Aggies have won 16 straight MEAC games on the road.

Aggies Overview:  North Carolina A&T women's basketball team led from start to finish in a 71-44 win over Florida A&M in the MEAC opener last Monday for the third consecutive win.
Junior guard Deja Winters ranks fourth in the conference in scoring, while senior guard C'coriea Foy ranks 15th, senior guard Cinia McCray ranks 22nd (9.9) and senior center Alexus Lessears ranks 23rd.
Lessears ranks seventh in rebounding, while senior Le'on Hill ranks eighth.
Junior center Jayla Jones-Pack leads the MEAC in shooting a 54.3 percent, while Lessears is sixth (49.4) and Winters is 10th (43.5).

The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks: The Shore has lost the last four games including a 79-58 loss to Howard in the MEAC opener.  The Hawks are led by Amanda Carney who averages 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and Brooklyn Bailey who averages 10.1 points and 2.6 rebounds.
The Aggies hold a 42-25 record over the Hawks including an 18-14 record in Princess Anne, Md., and they have won the last four meetings.

A&T looks for 26: The Aggies have won their last 25 regular-season MEAC games.  N.C. A&T went 16-0 in the regular season last season and went 15-1 in the regular season in 2017-18.  The last MEAC lost was a home loss to Hampton, 63-51, on Feb. 3, 2018. The last road MEAC loss was on Feb. 20, 2017 with a 58-50 loss at Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. The Aggies have won the last 16 regular-season MEAC games on the road.

Rankings: The Aggies lead the MEAC and rank in the ninth in the nation in turnovers forced (22.77). They rank third in the MEAC and 39th in the country in 3-point field goal defense (26.8). The Aggies also lead the conference in field goal defense (35.8) and 43rd nationally. N.C. A&T ranks second in the conference and 62nd in the nation with 60 blocked shots. In blocked shots per game, they are 42nd in the country and second in the MEAC.

Career Watch: Foy recorded 19 points against FAMU to give her 969 career points to move into 14th place in school history.  The Fayetteville, N.C., native needs 31 points to become the 14th student-athlete to record 1,000-plus points.

Lessears has 757 career rebounds and needs 18 rebounds to move into fourth place held by Helena Creamer (1987-91). Hill has recorded 478 rebounds to place 15th in school history and needs seven rebounds to move into 14th place held by Aprill McRae with 484 rebounds.

Lessears has 105 blocks and needs 11 blocks to move into fourth place held by Lamona Smalley (2006-10) with 115 blocks.
Hill has 88 career blocks, which ranks ninth place in school history and needs four blocks to move into eighth place.
