Biography

Finished her career as one of the best rebounders in school history … Provided the Aggies a strong defensive presence for four seasons along with a low-post presence on the offensive end … Also completed her career with a strong academic reputation in the field of marketing … Earned the N.C. A&T’s Athletics Department’s Joyce Spruill Women’s Scholarship for a female athlete who has shown exemplary success on the playing surface and in the classroom … Chose the Aggies over some impressive mid-majors and Power Fives after coming out of the state of Ohio as one of the best post players … In her career, she helped the Aggies win two regular-season MEAC championships including a 16-0 2018-19 season … Over her career, she also helped the Aggies win the MEAC tournament once and make an NCAA appearance along with an WNIT appearance … She was a member of the MEAC all-rookie team in 2017 and earned third-team All-MEAC honors in 2018 … Played in 114 games with 89 starts … In her career, she scored 877 points, 850 rebounds, 116 blocks while shooting .471 from the floor … She recorded 13 career double-doubles … She finished her career ranked third all-time in rebounds and fourth all-time in blocks.

2019-20 Season: Played in 26 games with 19 starts … Averaged 8.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks … Shot .454 from the field and shot .584 from the foul line … Ranked 26th in the conference in scoring, 11th rebounding seventh in shooting percentage, 12th in blocked shots and sixth in offensive rebounding (3.0) … Shot 50.0 percent or higher in 11 games  … In conference play, Lessears recorded 88 rebounds for an average of 6.8 rebounds to rank 13th in the MEAC … Shot 42.5 percent from the floor in conference play only to rank fifth in the conference … Scored in double figures 10 times … Recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in an upset win at Clemson on Dec. 20 … Also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds against Howard on Feb. 22 for Senior Day … Started the season with a season-high 12 rebounds at No. 14 N.C. State on Nov. 6 … Recorded a season-high four blocks at Morehead State on Nov. 26 and a season-high three steals at N.C. Central on March 5 in the regular season finale.  

2018-19 Season:  Played in 24 games with 19 starts … Averaged 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game … Shot .458 from the floor and .547 from the free throw line … Helped the Aggies win the MEAC regular-season title by going 16-0 in the league as she was a part of the first Aggies team to finish the regular-season conference schedule undefeated … Ranked sixth in the conference in blocked shots, 11th in offensive rebounding (2.5), 13th in defensive rebounding (3.8) and 12th in rebounding …  Led the Aggies in rebounding seven times and in blocked shots 13 times … She secured double-figure rebounds three times and had two double-doubles during the season … Opened the season with a double-double as she finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds (including seven offensive rebounds) on 5-for-7 shooting in the Aggies 72-67 loss to Morehead State on Nov. 9 … Had 12 points and 11 rebounds (six offensive rebounds) in the Aggies 72-49 win over Delaware State at Corbett … Posted nine points and had a whopping 18 rebounds on 7-for-8 shooting from the foul line as the Aggies defeated S.C. State 59-52 on Feb. 23

2017-18 Season: Played in 32 games with 26 starts … Averaged 8.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting .483 from the field and .463 from the free throw line … Helped the Aggies win the MEAC regular season and the tournament while advancing to the NCAA tournament  … Ranked third in the conference in rebounding … Led the Aggies in scoring five times, led the team in rebounding 18 times and led the Aggies in blocked shots 19 times … She secured double-figure rebounds 12 times and had six double-doubles … Had a career game at UT-Martin on Nov. 30 when she scored 20 points, grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds (including 10 offensive rebounds) and had five blocks ….Lessears was also 9-for-12 from the floor as the Aggies lost to UT-Martin 76-63 … Scored 13 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, had three blocks and went to the free throw line 16 times in the Aggies 67-54 win over N.C. Central at Corbett on Jan. 27 …  Scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (including eight offensive rebounds) on 4-for-7 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 shooting from the free throw line as the Aggies won at S.C. State, 74-54 on Feb. 10 … In the quarterfinal game of the MEAC tournament against S.C. State, Lessears scored 12 points and had 14 rebounds on 5-for-8 shooting from the field as the Aggies advanced with a 54-38 win at the Norfolk Scope Arena … Helped the Aggies win the tournament over a three-game sketch at the Scope as she scored 24 points, grabbed 30 rebounds and had 10 blocked shots to lead the Aggies to the NCAA tournament where they faced South Carolina.

2016-17 Season: Played in all 32 games with 25 starts in her rookie season … Averaged 6.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game … Shot .488 from the floor with a .515 free throw percentage … Led the team in rebounding (236 total) and blocked shots (13) … Third on the team in points per game and second in field goal percentage … Named to the MEAC All-Rookie team … Made her first career start against UT Martin on Nov. 14 at home … Had three double-doubles on the season, with her first coming against S.C. State on Feb. 13 with 16 points and 11 rebounds … Put up a career-high 19 points and 14 rebounds against Savannah State at home on Feb. 25 … Also had a double-double on the road at Howard on Feb. 18, finishing with 12 points and 14 rebounds … Had nine points and 11 rebounds in the MEAC Tournament semifinal round against Hampton on Mar. 10 … Put up seven points and 13 rebounds against Howard in the MEAC Tournament.

High School: Played three varsity seasons at Shaw High School under coaches Raymond Smith, Asia Polk and Dana Jeter … Was an all-conference, all-district, and All-Ohio selection … lettered in volleyball and cross country … Played AAU for TNBA.
