Â
AGGIES OVERVIEW:Â North Carolina A&T is coming off a tough overtime loss to Kent State, 85-71. A lot of positive came from the game, however.
Fred Cleveland, Jr. scored a career-best 21 points and earned all-tournament team honors and the Aggies turned in one of their best shooting performances of the year, shooting 50 percent from 3-point range. N.C. A&T has the second-best scoring defense in the MEAC, allowing just 68.4 points per game. This is in part because they have 36 blocks on the season ranking fourth in the conference at 3.3 per game.
Â
WAKE FOREST OVERVIEW:Â The Demon Deacons won their last game against Xavier, 80-78, on Dec. 14. They return leading scorer Brandon Childress who is averaging 17.1 points per game this season. As members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Wake was projected to finish 15
th in the conference this year. The Demon Deacons do not waste chances at the free throw line shooting over 75 percent as a team, good for first in the conference. Head coach Danny Manning is entering his sixth season at the helm of the program. He has a career record of 71-98 at Wake Forest.
