Biography

Perhaps the most versatile player head coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs has had during her five-year stint at N.C. A&T…On any given night Smalley can provide scoring or rebounding or passing to help the Aggies win…Over her previous three years the Aggies are 68-28 overall and 42-8 in the MEAC with two regular-season titles, an MEAC Championships and an appearance in the NCAA tournament…Smalley has routinely played undersized at the center position…She has earned the reputation of being a big-time player in the MEAC Tournament, having been named to the all-tournament team each of the last two seasons…Smalley is averaging 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.8 blocks in six MEAC Tournament games…Head coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs attributes Smalley’s success to her intelligence on the floor, calling her one of the smartest players she has ever coached…Smalley is a cunning player with great low post moves and the ability to make tough catches in the post with her great hands…She is also a great low post defender for her size…She will go down as one of the best rebounders in the program’s history…Smalley has a chance to become the Aggies second all-time rebounder…Has recorded double-figure rebounds 16 times and had has recorded 12 career double-doubles…Her versatility his highlighted by the fact she will finish in the Aggies top 10 list in rebounding and assists before her career is over…Has led the Aggies in rebounding 35 times and in assists 20 times over her career…Missed the last 14 games of her freshman season after a sustaining a knee injury in practice…Despite that, she still has scored 658 points, grabbed 594 rebounds, blocked 72 shots, dished out 187 assists and recorded 138 steals…She ranks sixth on the Aggies all-time rebounding list and eighth on the all-time assists list…She is a career .492 shooter from the field and a .574 career free throw shooter…She has played in 81 games with 65 starts.

2008-2009: Played in 32 games with 17 starts ...Averaged 7.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game...Shot .494 from the floor and improved her free throw shooting by shooting .671...Named to the MEAC All-Tournament team for the second straight season ...Recorded seven double-doubles to lead the team...Led the Aggies in rebounding for the third straight season...Ranked seventh in the conference in rebounding...She also ranked sixth in the league in defensive rebounding and 15th in offensive rebounding...Led the Aggies in rebounding 12 times, in assists 11 times, in blocks nine times and in steals four times...Posted her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in a 90-60 win over Elon on Nov. 20...Nine days later, Smalley recorded her second double of the season by scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a 72-53 win at East Carolina that clinched the Pirate Invitational title for the Aggies...Smalley also tied a career high in assists with six and added two steals and two blocks...Notched her third double-double in seven games with 12 points and 10 rebounds on 6-for-6 shooting from the line and 3-for-3 shooting from the field in a 72-54 win at Campbell on December 20...Posted a season-high 16 points and had six rebounds in a 75-57 win at Coppin State on January 12...Finished the season strong by averaging 13.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in the final three games of the season, which included a 15-point, 10-rebound performance in the MEAC Championship win over Hampton and a 14-point, 7-rebound performance against Florida State in the NCAA Tournament

2007-2008: Played in 33 games with 32 starts...Averaged 9.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks...Shot .514 from the field and .520 from the free throw line...Recorded six double-doubles on the season to lead the team...Led the Aggies in rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots...Ranked third in the conference in blocks and ninth in the league in rebounding...Also ranked 25th in scoring, 15th in steals, sixth in offensive rebounding (3.18) and eighth in defensive rebounding (4.15)...Had her first double-double of the season against Norfolk State when she scored 11 points and had 11 rebounds on 5-for-9 shooting in a win over Norfolk State on Dec. 1...In the only game of her career when she was not a starter, she responded by scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on 7-for-12 shooting in a loss to N.C. State on Dec. 16...Had a superb two-game stretch in the middle of January…Scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (11 defensive rebounds) in a win at Maryland-Eastern Shore...Followed that performance two nights later with 21 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and one block in a huge road win over Delaware State on Jan. 21...For her efforts, she earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors...Earned her second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds (11 defensive), blocking two shots and earning a steal in a home win over Delaware State on Feb. 16...Followed that performance with a 14-point, 9-rebound, 4-steal and 2-block performance at Winston-Salem State on Feb. 18…Was named to the MEAC All-Tournament team...In the quarterfinals, she had 11 points, 10 rebounds and a block in a win over Florida A&M...In the semifinals against Hampton, she scored 12 points, had 12 rebounds, five assists and four blocks in an Aggies win...Scored 18 points on 8-for-16 shooting in the championship loss to Coppin State

2006-2007: Played 16 games with 16 starts as a freshman...Before being injured in practice before playing Coppin State on Jan. 20, was leading the MEAC in rebounding...Was also leading the conference in field goal percentage before being injured...Averaged 7.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game while shooting .441 from the field and .424 from the free throw line…Played 30 or minutes 10 times during the season...Led the Aggies in rebounding eight times and in scoring once...Had an impressive debut as an Aggie, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 61-49 win over Stetson on Nov. 10...Was 9-for-14 from the floor, had three steals and recorded seven offensive rebounds in the game...Recorded 11 rebounds, seven of them came on the offensive end and had five assists in a loss to Providence in the UNC-Greensboro Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 24...In her MEAC debut, scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds on 7-for-13 shooting in 36 minutes of action in a 79-63 win over S.C. State...Showed her overall versatility against UNC-Asheville on Dec. 16 when she recorded 13 rebounds, five assists, four blocks, three steals and six points in a 63-59 win...Had 10 points and nine rebounds on 4-for-5 shooting from the field in a loss to Texas Christian...In her final game of the season, scored eight points, four assists and had a season-best 14 rebounds (six offensive rebounds) in a 72-65 loss to Florida A&M on Jan. 15
