Biography

By the time her career ends in 2010, Cook will undoubtedly be considered one of the best players to ever wear an Aggies uniform…Before the season is over, she could be the second all-time leading scorer, the all-time leader in assists and steals…She will also find herself among the top 10 rebounders in school history…The Aggies are 68-28 overall and 42-8 in the MEAC since Cook’s arrival, making her a key component in the Aggies resurgence…Head coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs called her the heart and soul of the Aggies program…Has tremendous quickness even with the ball in her hands…At times during her career, she has been a one-woman fastbreak…She consistently ranks among the team and conference leaders in making it to the free throw line…She has been to the line 440 times during her career…That is more free throw attempts than any other player on the Aggies roster…Cook has played in 94 of the 96 games the Aggies have played since she has been an Aggie…She has made starts in 79 of the 94 games she has played…Five times during her career she has played 40 minutes…She has played 30 or more minutes 48 times in her career…She needs just 12 assists to break Mia Glover’s all-time assists record…During her career, she has scored 1,221 points, grabbed 340 rebounds and dished out 321 assists in 2,811 minutes of action…She also has 190 career steals, made 293 free throws and 110 3-pointers…She has scored in double figures 61 times, has scored 20 or more points 14 times, has led the Aggies in assists 43 times and in scoring 14 times…Cook has shot .421 from the field, .282 from 3-point range and .667 from the free throw line…Cook is a two-time second-team All-MEAC selection and she was named MEAC Rookie of the Year for the 2006-2007 season, becoming the first Lady Aggie in the program’s history to earn the honor…Prior to this season she was named preseason first-team All-MEAC…During her career, she has been named MEAC Rookie of the Week and MEAC Player of the Week twice and MEAC Defensive Player of the Week once.

2008-2009: Played in 32 games with 17 starts...Averaged 11.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 26.6 minutes per game...Shot .418 from the floor, .311 from 3-point range and .686 from the free throw line...Led the Aggies in assists 13 times, in steals eight times, in blocks four times and in scoring three times...Scored in double figures 19 times and scored 20 or more points four times...Was a reserve for a good portion of the season...Averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 25.1 minutes in 15 games as a reserve...Ranked eighth in the conference in assists, eighth in steals, 10th in field goal percentage, 10th in 3-point percentage, 12th in 3-pointers made and 13th in scoring...Scored 21 points and handed out seven assists on 7-for-10 shooting to lead the Aggies to a nine-point win over Buffalo in the Pirate Invitational on November 28...Scored 20 points, hit 10 of her 14 free throws in 30 minutes of action to lead the Aggies to a blowout win over Norfolk State on December 6... Two weeks later, scored 20 points, dished out six assists and had five rebounds on 8-for-15 shooting in a blowout win at Campbell...Had 17 points and five steals on December 30 to lead the Aggies to a two-point win over Lafayette...Posted 18 points and seven assists as the Aggies earned an upset win over Charlotte in the Queen City on January 5...Played well at Norfolk State on March 5 with 23 points, five steals and 8-for-14 shooting in a blowout win...Showed off for the nation as she scored 19 points and had five rebounds in the Aggies NCAA Tournament loss to Florida State

2007-2008: Played in and started 32 games...Averaged 13.2 points, 3.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game...Was named second-team All-MEAC...Ranked seventh in the league in assists, 12th in scoring, 10th in steals (1.96) and 12th in 3-pointers made per game (1.28)...She also ranked sixth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio with 104 assists and 103 turnovers (1.01)...Shot .446 from the floor, .301 from the 3-point arc and .688 from the free throw line...Ranked 96th nationally in steals...Was named second-team All-MEAC for the second straight season...Earned the honor after averaging 15.2 points, 4.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game in 16 conference games...Cook scored 20 or more points six times, dished out more than five assists six times and had more than five steals three times...Had a series of games between Jan. 26-Feb. 2 where she scored 20 or more points in three straight games...She had at the time a career-high 27 points, a career-high eight steals and added three assists on 9-for-17 shooting to help the Aggies defeat Winston Salem State on Jan. 26...Followed that performance with 22 points, two steals, four assists and two rebounds on 7-for-12 shooting in a win over S.C. State on Jan. 28...For her efforts she earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week...On Feb. 2 against Howard, she scored 22 points, recorded three steals, five assists and grabbed four rebounds on 8-for-15 shooting in a win over Howard...Notched a career-high 28 points, dished out five assists and had five rebounds on 12-for-21 shooting in a win over Maryland-Eastern Shore...Scored 13 points and handed out eight assists in just 21 minutes of action in a win over Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 11...Had an outstanding performance against Delaware State on ESPNU on Feb. 18 when she scored 20 points, dished out five assists, recorded five steals and was 8-for-11 from the free throw line in a win over the defending MEAC Champions.

2006-2007: Became the first player in the history of the N.C. A&T women’s program to be named MEAC Rookie of the Year...Was also named second-team All-MEAC after averaging 14.1 points and 4.37 assists per game...Became the first Aggie freshman to lead the MEAC in assists…Ranked 78th nationally in assists...Ranked fourth in the league in scoring, seventh in the league in minutes (33.83) ninth in the league field goal percentage (.401), 12th in the league in steals (1.83), 11th in the league in 3-pointers made per game (1.17) and 14th in 3-point field goal percentage (.238)...In an almost unprecedented feat, earned MEAC Player of the Week honors as freshman after averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 assists and shooting a combined .538 from the floor for the week of Jan. 1-7...Cook’s recognition that week marked the third straight week an Aggie was named player of the week...Was also named MEAC Rookie of the Week twice...Her first honor came after she played her first career MEAC game and scored 18 points on 8-for-17 shooting, dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds in a 74-61 win over S.C. State on Dec. 2...Her second recognition as rookie of the week came after she averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 assists and shot .786 from the line for the week of Dec. 18-25...Led the Aggies in assists 17 times, in rebounding three times and in scoring once...Scored 20 or more points five times…The Aggies were 4-1 when she scored 20 or more points...Recorded a season-high 25 points on 8-for-16 shooting, while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists in a loss to Coppin State...Had 22 points, six rebounds and six assists in a 77-72 win over Florida A&M...Scored a 24 points, had five assists, five rebounds and was 9-for-15 from the floor and 5 of 9 from 3-point range in 74-59 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Jan. 6...Scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had four assists, played 38 minutes and was 8-for-18 from the floor in a 91-69 win over Hampton on Jan. 29...Had 17 points and dished out a season-best nine assists and had four rebounds in a 75-62 win over Bethune-Cookman on Jan. 13...Scored 17 points and grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in a win over Morgan State.

Seventy-First High School Career: Attended Seventy-First High School where she played under head coach Tracie Taylor...Led the Falcons to two consecutive state championships in the state of North Carolina in 2003 and 2004...Was named the Most Outstanding Player in the 2004 state championship game...In 2006, was named the Mid-Southeastern Conference Player of the Year after averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals as a senior...Averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 4.0 steals during her career at Seventy-First...Led the Falcons to a 26-4 record as a senior as they advanced to the Eastern Regional playoffs...She made first-team All-State in Class 4A…Also was named All-Cape Fear All-Region honorable mention...Also ran track for the Falcons
