Hall of Fame Stories


Al Barnette, a first generation college student and late-recruited player out of high school, became an outstanding defensive football player at N.C. A&T.
James Baten, former N.C. A&T baseball player said being inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame is the greatest thing to ever happen and filled him with joy.  
Odell Benders excelled as a student-athlete, achieving high academic grades and numerous athletic accomplishments, demonstrating his competitiveness.

Eric Boyd chose to follow his passion for basketball by joining the Aggies from 1981-1985. Boyd was a combo guard, making him a key player on the team.
 
Curtis Burgins developed a passion for football in the 5th grade, excelled at N.C. A&T, and was inducted into the N.C. A&T Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements and talent.
Crystal Bailey, a Detroit native joined N.C. A&T bowling team from 1997-2001 where she was appointed as the bowling captain for three years.
 

Malveata Collins played on the N.C. A&T women's basketball team from 1997-2001 and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

Don Corbett compiled an excellent team at N.C. A&T from 1997 to 1993. He received the MEAC Coach of the Year award six times.
Curtis Deloatch was given a chance to play football his sophomore year and excelled. He became a star in Aggie football and was later drafted into the NFL.
Joseph Hill's journey from playing stickball to becoming a star at North Carolina A&T indicates his passion and dedication to baseball. 
Derrick
Homesley's speed on the track earned him recognition, but it was his A&T roots that taught him how to use his talent to become a star. 

Akinyele Igunmuyiwa motto was "Nothing works until you start working", which motivated Igunmuyiwa and his teammates to achieve success.
Bruce Jenkins constantly worked on his craft and looked for ways to better himself as an athlete. Making him a standout player for the men's basketball team. 
Tim Johnson's excellent football skills earned him many awards, leading to his induction into the N.C. A&T Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.

Monty Key was a multi-sport athlete although he excelled in football his senior year, making him an outstanding punter.
 

Benjamin "B.J." Little, second home was N.C. A&T football field. He dedicated himself to practicing and playing each week with the goal of becoming better.

Arlene Mitchell achieved remarkable success during her time as an Aggie from 2003-2006. She was part of the volleyball program along with her twin sister. 
Warren Reynolds' community aspect drew him to N.C. A&T. Where he served as the head coach of the men's basketball team from 1970-1977. 

Maurice Smith, played a significant role in the N.C. A&T 1999 football season, where the Aggies celebrated their first playoff game.
Timothy Williams cherished his time as an Aggie athlete. He played the sport he loves in the community that helped shape him. 
 
Damon Vaughan's passion for track and field started as a triple jumper and long jumper, but then switched to javelin throwing when he discovered his talents.Â
