High School: Played varsity football at Dudley High School … Earned all-area honors from the News & Record … Was an honorable mention all-area selection by the paper as a junior … Was also an All-Piedmont Triad 3-A Conference performer as a junior and senior … Carried the ball 120 times for 1,172 yards and 10 touchdowns in leading the Dudley Panthers to a 10-3 record and the second round of the 3-AA state playoffs as a senior … As a junior, he led the Panthers to the 4-A state championship with a 15-1 record … Was the championship game’s MVP with 120 yards rushing and two TDs … As a defender, he posted 62 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions and he forced and recovered a fumble from his linebacker position.
