GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University freshman women's golfer Macy Garth ascended six positions up the leaderboard on Tuesday by shooting a 2-over 74 during the second day of the prestigious Folds of Honor Collegiate hosted by Michigan State University at the par-72, 6,213-yard American Dunes golf course.

Folds of Honor raises money and awareness for the Folds of Honor Foundation. This nonprofit organization provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of disabled military service members and first responders. The name and mission of Folds of Honor come from the 13 traditional folds of the American flag during military funerals, which represent sacrifice, remembrance, and gratitude.

A&T improved by 14 shots from Monday. After a first-round 331, the Aggies shot 317 on Tuesday for a two-round total of 72-over 648 and remain in 12th place behind leader Kansas. The Jayhawks are at 5-under 571, six shots ahead of Arizona at 577, with Florida State third at 578.

Garth joins sophomore teammate Morgan Rodriguez in a four-way tie for 42nd. Rodriguez shot 78 in the second round. Arizona's Olivia Hung remained in first after a 69, giving her a 4-under 140 and a one-shot lead over Duke's Mia Hammond at 141. A four-way tie for third sits at 2-under 142.

Garth opened her second round on the par-4, 10th, where she carded a par. That led to five straight par putts before she moved to 1-under for the round by birdieing the par-3, 161-yard 15th. She continued to play well, clinching par putts on the final three holes of the back nine to finish the back nine shooting a 35.

On the first two holes of the front nine, she also posted pars to remain at 1-under. Garth ran into trouble for the first time on the par-4, 372-yard third. She carded a five there before bogeying the par-4 fifth and double-bogeying the par-4 eighth. Fortunately, she closed the second round with a birdie on the par-4, 373-yard ninth to finish the day with a 74.

Rodriguez carded two birdies during the first round and one in the second, a four on the par-5, 500-yard 17th. She started on the back nine and shot a 37, then posted a 41 on the front nine, which included five par putts, two double bogeys, and a bogey.

Junior Mia Truong shot 79 in the second round, followed by senior Sofia Fernando's 86 and freshman Janiya Brown's 89. The final round of the Folds of Honor is Wednesday.
