ELON, NC – The North Carolina A&T women's outdoor track and field team is poised for a strong finish at the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

They claimed an event title on day one of the 2026 CAA outdoor championships, held Friday at Elon University's Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex.
Senior Olivia Dowd won the women's long jump Friday with a 19-foot, 8-inch effort—an impressive leap from last year, when she placed 17th at these championships. Dowd will pursue her second straight CAA outdoor triple jump title Saturday at 2 p.m.

The women also looked impressive on the track, qualifying multiple competitors in the 400-meter hurdles, the 200 meters, the 100 meters, and the 400 meters. Additionally, graduate Zamia Stelly posted the second-fastest qualifying time in the 100H at 13.92. The Lady Aggies also have the women's high jump (9:45 a.m.) on Saturday, where they enter as the favorite, with graduate Spirit Morgan.

In the 400H, four Aggies will compete, led by freshman Rachari Wildgoose who posted the third-fastest qualifying time at 1:00.21. She will be joined by freshmen Danayja Haper (1:00.33), Eden Fuller (1:00.64), and Kindal Smith (1:02.55). Meanwhile, the Aggies also had some top qualifiers on Friday, led on the track by junior Makenna Urbanek.
Urbanek entered with the CAA's best 100m time (11.27) and ran 11.46 on Friday to claim the top qualifying spot. Freshman Khamoni Rockeymore-Crews also advanced (11.89).

Urbanek will compete in the 200m with two teammates. She posted the third-fastest 200m (23.88) on Friday. Sophomore Meara Rasul (23.94) and junior Kymara Brodie (24.34) also reached the final. Urbanek will likely anchor the Aggies' 4x100-meter relay team (1 p.m.) Saturday to chase more points.

Junior Serenity Brazell posted a 400m personal best (54.19), besting her previous mark of 54.58, which earned her fourth place in last season's CAA outdoor championships. Freshman Malayia Morrow also reached the final, running 56.07 on Friday. Brazell will join the Aggies' 4x400 team to boost scoring.

The A&T women seek their first conference championship since winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in 2021.
