GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T men's track and field outdoor team secured most of the Coastal Athletic Association's (CAA) postseason superlatives for the second straight season after winning the conference title for the second year in a row.

The CAA released its men's outdoor track and field postseason accolades on Thursday, with junior Isaiah Taylor capturing CAA Men's Track Athlete of the Year. Senior teammate Xavier Partee earned the Men's Field Athlete of the Year award for the second straight season.

Additionally, A&T's director of track and field, Allen Johnson, was unanimously selected by his peers as coach of the year. It marks the second straight season he has earned the conference honor.

The Taylor household has won CAA Track Athlete of the Year in back-to-back seasons after Taylor's twin brother, Xzaviah, won the award in 2025. The conference also released its All-CAA teams, with the Aggies having seven athletes earn first-team honors and three earning multiple first-team selections.

Isaiah Taylor led A&T, earning first-team All-CAA honors in three events – the 110-meter hurdles, the 400-meter hurdles, and the 4x100-meter relay. At the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., Taylor captured first-team All-American accolades from the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the 400mh and the 4x400-meter relay.

He finished third nationally in the 400mh, running a 49.03 in the NCAA final. He and his 4x400 teammates placed sixth in the NCAA final with a time of 3:00.68. Taylor qualified for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round in May in 110mh, 400mh, and 4x400. During the East Prelims, he qualified for nationals in the 400mh by running a school-record 48.71, the fastest qualifying time of either NCAA Prelim meet (East and West).

Before the NCAA meets, Taylor helped the Aggies capture back-to-back CAA outdoor track and field championships by earning gold in the 110mh, 400mh, and 4x100. At the time, his 13.30 in the 110mh CAA final earned him the school, CAA, and CAA championship meet records. It still stands as the CAA meet record.

For his efforts, Taylor received the meet's Most Outstanding Athlete award. During the season, he earned CAA Track Athlete of the Week once.

In winning field athlete of the year for the second straight season, Partee captured honorable mention All-American accolades in the triple jump from the USTFCCCA for the second year in a row after finishing 17th at NCAA nationals. Partee qualified for the NCAA East Prelims in the triple jump for the second straight season and then posted the highest qualifying mark at East Prelims by jumping 53 feet, 4 ½ inches.

Partee, a graduate of nearby Ben L. Smith High School, set personal and school records with his jump during East Prelims. He placed second in the triple jump at the 2026 CAA outdoor championships and won a triple jump event twice during the season. He also won CAA Field Athlete of the Week twice during the season.
Johnson continued to enhance his impressive resumé. The Aggies qualified 17 student-athletes in eight events. Everette Alston became the first discus thrower in program history to qualify for the NCAA East Prelims. After East Prelims, the Aggies sent 10 male athletes to regionals across five events.

In addition to the 4x100 and 4x400 athletes earning first-team honors, Isaiah and Xzaviah Taylor earned first-team honors in the 400mh, and Jason Holmes earned first-team All-American honors in the 110mh. At the CAA meet, the Aggies finished first and second in the 100 meters, 110mh, and 400mh. The Aggies won the title with 184.33 points, 29.33 points better than second-place Northeastern.
