GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T's men's and women's outdoor track and field programs hosted the first of two meets they will host at the Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex over the weekend. The first meet, the Aggie Invitational, was an overwhelming success.

The Aggies put together seven first-place finishes, including four on the women's side and three for the men, at the Aggie Invite. Additionally, the Aggies compiled measurements and times that put them in the national and regional spotlight. All of that culminated in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) recognizing three Aggies for weekly honors on Tuesday.

Senior Jason Holmes secured CAA Outdoor Men's Athlete of the Week. Junior Xavier Partee claimed CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Junior Makenna Urbanek captured CAA co-Women's Athlete of the Week. Holmes claimed his fifth career men's outdoor athlete of the week award, and his first this season. Partee has his second field weekly honor of the season and the third of his career. Urbanek also has weekly honor No. 2 of the season. It is also her second career weekly honor.

Holmes finished second behind professional hurdler Jamal Britt in the 110-hurdles with a time of 13.46. Holmes, one of the most decorated hurdlers in program history, now ranks No. 1 in the CAA, No. 6 in the NCAA Division I East Region, and No. 12 nationally in the 110H. After Saturday, Holmes now owns the top three 110H times in school history, with his 13.40 at the 2024 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round standing as the standard.

Partee jumped 51 feet, 1 inch on Friday to win the 2026 Aggie Invitational triple jump over teammate Ty'Heak Buie. This is his best triple jump since he set a personal record of 52 feet, 4 ¾ inches at the 2025 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round last May. Partee is ranked No. 1 in the conference, No. 15 in the East, and No. 40 nationally.

Urbanek's career season continued to get better. She ran a personal record 11.27 in the 100 meters on Saturday to move into contention for qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round. Her 11.27 moved her into the No. 1 spot in the CAA. She is ranked 22nd in the region and 35th nationally. In addition to winning the 100m, she finished second in the 200m at the Aggie Invitational with a personal record time of 23.62. Urbanek ranks third in the conference in the 200m.

The Aggies return to action on Saturday. They travel to Baton Rouge, La., for LSU's Gold Alumni Meet. They will host their second meet of the season, the Aggie Classic at Marcus T. Johnson Track, May 1-2.
