Holmes Earns Another All-American Nod

Holmes is now a three-time second-team All-American.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – North Carolina A&T senior hurdler Jason Holmes completed his indoor track and field season again at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. On Friday, Holmes competed for the 60-meter hurdles national title for the third time in his career.

When Friday night ended, Holmes secured his third straight second-team All-American honor as an indoor athlete. Holmes failed to qualify for the 60H final, finishing 13th overall and seventh in his heat with a time of 7.65. Holmes qualified for the 2026 NCAA nationals by finishing in a four-way tie for 10th nationally. The time that earned Holmes a place at the nationals meet was a 7.55 time clocked at Clemson University's Tiger Paw Invitational.

Holmes won the event at Clemson, his 12th career victory as a 60-meter hurdler. Holmes entered the NCAA national meet after winning the 60H, the 60 meters, and finishing fourth in the 200m at the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Indoor Track and Field Championship meet in Boston. Holmes's 60H title at the CAA indoor meet marked his third straight at the conference meet. Holmes's 7.55 time on Friday marks his best mark at an NCAA national meet.

In 2025, Holmes ran a 7.64 to finish 12th. The prior year, he posted a 7.74 to finish 12th. Holmes won CAA co-Men's Athlete of the Year last season. He won CAA Indoor Rookie of the Year in 2023 before winning CAA Outdoor Rookie of the Year in 2024. He will enter A&T's outdoor season as a junior. The Aggies open the outdoor season on Friday, March 20, at High Point University's Bob Davidson Team Challenge at Vert Stadium. It will be a two-day event that will conclude on Saturday.
