GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T Aggies women's basketball team will host the 2 p.m. SportsCenter at Corbett Sports Center on Friday, February 20.
Doors will open at 1 p.m., and it will be a ticketed event. Later that day, the A&T women's basketball team will host the Northeastern Huskies at 7 p.m. from Corbett Sports Center. The historic television show will do five segments from Aggieland, including a live interview with head women's basketball coach
Tarrell Robinson.
Limited tickets will be made available starting Monday, February 16, via the A&T Student Ticket Portal. They will also be made available to the public at the Brown Ticket Hall Office. Fans are encouraged to make signs, and sign-making stations will be made available. Free jerseys will be given away to the first 300 fans.
The SportsCenter anchors will be Amina Smith and David Dennis, Jr.
Smith contributes to the flagship shows, 2 pm and weekend editions. Smith previously served as a multi-platform host and on-air talent with NBC Sports Boston, where she covered the New England Patriots and hosted flagship programming for the Boston Celtics. In 2022, Smith's exceptional work earned her a New England Emmy for Outstanding Sports Programming – Live as the host of Patriots Pregame Live.
Her broadcasting career began in 2010 while she was a student at the University of South Carolina. A former track athlete, she worked with SGTV, the school's student-run station, covering football and women's basketball. In 2012, she transferred to the University of Miami, where she continued to hone her skills in various production and on-air roles for networks such as NBC, ESPNU, FOX, and her campus station UMTV.
Amina graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
Dennis is a senior writer for ESPN's Andscape, where he covers the intersections of sports, race, culture, music, and society with insight and nuance.
