MATCH UP(s) N.C. A&T Aggies (5-8, 0-2 CAA) at Northeastern (4-8, 0-2 CAA) and
at Stony Brook (6-9, 1-1 CAA as of Friday)
LOCATION (s) Cabot Center (1,500) and Stony Brook Arena (4,000)
DATE/TIME vs. NE     Friday, January 9, 2026/7 p.m.
DATE/TIME vs. SBU Sunday, January 11, 2026/1 p.m.
  • The Aggies are coming off back-to-back home losses in conference play since losing to Monmouth and Drexel on February 18 and Drexel on March 7 in 2024. The Aggies' only home loss in the CAA last season was a 56-52 loss to Campbell on February 9.
  • The Aggies head north in search of their first CAA win of the season. The Aggies will start in Boston against Northeastern before heading to the Long Island, New York, area to face Stony Brook University.
  • As good as the Aggies are at home in CAA play, they have been just as good on the road. A&T is 20-7 in road games since joining the CAA during the 2022-23 season. A&T's only two road losses last season were by a total of six points.
  • A&T continues to showcase its depth. The Aggies averaged 24.2 bench points per game, which ranks second in the conference behind Elon (28.6). Freshman Anaya Karriem leads the A&T charge off the bench, averaging 7.5 points per game.
  • Karriem made her first career start on Sunday against Monmouth in place of center Chaniya Clark. Clark missed Sunday's game after taking an elbow to the chest in the Aggies' CAA season opener against William & Mary.
  • The Aggies went into the conference season with a losing record. It will mark the seventh time in head coach Tarrell Robinson's 14-year career at A&T that the Aggies have gone into the conference season with a losing record. Despite that, the Aggies have had only two losing seasons under Robinson and have won five regular-season championships, made eight postseason appearances, compiled six 20-win seasons, and won three conference tournaments.
  • Preseason second-team All-CAA performer Paris Locke returned to the Aggies lineup on December 30, coming off the bench, scoring five points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists against Division II Newberry.
  • Locke missed five games with a lower-leg injury, but she has started A&T's last two games. She had eight points and nine rebounds against William & Mary and followed that with a season-high 18 points against Monmouth.
  • A&T had three freshmen score in double figures in Wednesday's 99-49 win over Newberry. Anaya Karriem led the trio with 21 points, followed by Ja'naya Meyers and Jamyia Lindsey scoring 10 apiece.
  • Wednesday marked the first time in the 14-year Tarrell Robinson era that three freshmen scored in double figures in a single game. It marked the first time three freshmen have scored in double figures at A&T since Aisha Mosley (22), Sabre Proctor (16) and Tracy King (14) all scored in double figures in an 81-56 win over Winthrop on November 14, 2010, in Rock Hill, SC.
  • Karriem's 21 points are the most points scored by a freshman under Robinson, and her point total is the most by an Aggies freshman since Tiffanie Adair scored 27 points in a 71-68 loss to S.C. State on February 11, 2012, at Corbett Sports Center.
  • There are two 1,000-point watches for the Aggies this season. Graduate guard D'Mya Tucker needs 19 points to reach the milestone. Meanwhile, Chaniya Clark needs 82 points to reach 1,000. Seventeen players have reached the 1,000-point milestone in program history.
  • Clark comes into today's game with 683 rebounds. She needs 10 more rebounds to move up the Aggies' all-time rebounding list for sixth place. That spot is held by Jaleesa Sams (2007-11).
  • The Aggies had 11 players scored in double figures on Wednesday in their win over Newberry. The Aggies have had at least 10 players score in a game this season seven times.
  • Head coach Tarrell Robinson is in his 14th season with A&T. He is the program's all-time winningest coach with 252 wins. He is five wins shy of passing Don Corbett for most basketball wins at A&T – men or women. The most basketball wins in A&T history belong to Cal Irvin, with 348. He won the 2024-25 CAA Coach of the Year Award last season.

SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN

  • Northeastern also comes into today's game looking for its first CAA win. The Huskies are coming off an 85-58 loss to CAA favorite College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, on Sunday.
  • Before losing to the Cougars, the Huskies fell 69-67 at UNC Wilmington. Friday will mark the Huskies' first CAA home game.
  • The Huskies do have a win over Boston College of the ACC, 73-67 at BC on December 19. Nariyah Simmons led the Huskies over the BC Eagles with 16 points. Justice Tramble led the Huskies against UNCW with 18 points.
  • Northeastern is led by Camryn Collins and Yirsz Quélíz, who both average 11.3 points per game. Collins posted 19 points on 11-for-13 shooting from the free throw line in a 68-60 win over Sacred Heart in November. Meanwhile, Quélíz had 22 points in an 83-65 loss at Merrimack on November 15.
  • Quélíz leads the team in assist-to-turnover ratio and ranks eighth in the CAA. Maya Summerville leads the team in rebounding at 5.5 per game. Tramble follows closely at 5.3 rebounds per game.
  • Priscilla Edwards-Lloyd leads the Northeastern program in her third year as head coach. She is 17-49 (.304) with the Huskies. She spent five seasons as the associate head coach at Clemson before coming to Northeastern.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK

  • Stony Brook University (SBU) will welcome the Drexel Dragons on Friday before playing A&T on Sunday at Stony Brook Arena.
  • After taking two weeks off from competition, the Seawolves opened their CAA season with a 63-54 win over Hampton before losing to William & Mary 73-57 in overtime.
  • SBU has non-conference wins over Rutgers and Duquesne. The Seawolves won on the road against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and defeated the Dukes at home.
  • Janay Brantley is the only SBU player averaging double figures at 12.0 points per game as of Friday. She had 13 points in the Seawolves' win over Hampton before scoring 18 against the William & Mary Tribe.
  • Sandra Frau Garcia leads the team in assists per game (4.1). Frau Garcia is second in the CAA in total assists (62) and fourth in assists per game. Frau Garcia is also second in the league in total steals (33) and steals per game (2.2). Caitlin Frost stands as the leading rebounder with 7.5 per game. Going into the weekend, Frost ranks fourth in the CAA.
  • Joy McCorvey leads the SBU program. She is in her second season with the Seawolves, going 12-18 in her first season. Before coming to SBU, she spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee.

SERIES

  • A&T has won all four matchups against Northeastern. All four of those games have been played since A&T joined the CAA during the 2022-23 season.
  • Three of A&T's wins over Northeastern have been by double figures.
  • In three meetings against the Huskies, Clark is averaging 13.9 points. She has scored a combined 36 points in her last two games against Northeastern.
  • The Aggies are 2-3 all-time against Stony Brook. The Aggies did play Stony Brook once before joining the CAA, losing 83-57 on December 1, 2000.
  • A&T won the last matchup between the two teams 79-46, with Paris Locke scoring eight points and Clark scoring four.
