GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men's basketball released its 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Tuesday. On the same day, the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) released its 2025-26 slate of games, giving the Aggies a 31-game schedule for 2025-26. The Aggies will play 13 home games, with the potential to add one more.
The opponents include six HBCUs, including five non-conference HBCU foes. The marquee game on the 2025-26 schedule is against an HBCU. In July, the NBA announced the selection of CAA foes A&T and Hampton to play in the 2026 NBA HBCU Classic during NBA All-Star weekend in Los Angeles on either February 13 or 14.
Before NBA All-Star Weekend, the Aggies will face the Pirates at the Convocation Center in Hampton, Va., on January 19 in a CAA showdown. The Aggies home opener will also be against an HBCU as the Aggies invite the South Carolina State Bulldogs to Corbett Sports Center on Monday, November 10, at 7 p.m.
The Aggies will be looking to continue a six-game winning streak against the Bulldogs, after winning the last matchup back in 2021 by seven points in Orangeburg, SC.
The Aggies will get an SEC challenger for their season opener on Tuesday, November 4, when they travel to Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC, to face the University of South Carolina (USC) Gamecocks. It will be the first matchup between the two teams since December 2014.
Two other HBCU road games will follow with Morgan State on November 18 in Baltimore, Md., and at archrival North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on December 6 in Durham, NC. Prominent HBCU Howard will come to North Carolina on December 9. The two programs are still trying to decide on a venue. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) comes to Corbett Sports Center to compete against the Aggies in a non-conference HBCU slate on December 12.
A&T's two other home non-conference games include a contest against Washington Adventist University on November 13 and another on December 20 against Mid-Atlantic Christian. The highlight of the Aggies non-conference road schedule is their annual tilt with Gate City rival UNC Greensboro at First Horizon Coliseum on Tuesday, December 16. UNCG leads the all-time series, 8-7.
The Aggies other non-conference road games are against Davidson (November 28) and Charlotte (December 2).
A&T will introduce 10 new players on the roster this year, to join the six returners.
"We always try to use the non-conference to prepare us, and I think that it will do that," said A&T head coach Monté Ross, who is entering his third season as the lead of the program. "[It's] interesting because we have so many new guys to see how they measure up and see how best we as a coaching staff can prepare them and put them in the proper positions to be successful."
Conference play begins inside Corbett against the defending CAA tournament champions, the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, on Monday, December 29, at 7 p.m. Two days later, on New Year's Eve, the Aggies will host the Northeastern University Huskies at 3 p.m.
The remainder of the conference season will include matchups in Corbett Sports Center against Elon University (January 8), Hofstra University (January 22), Towson University (January 24), Campbell University (February 7), Charleston (February 19), and William & Mary (February 26).
The Aggies will travel to Stony Brook University (January 13), William & Mary (January 15), Hampton University (January 19), Monmouth University (January 29), Drexel University (January 31), Charleston (February 5), before making the stop in LA, and closing out the road CAA schedule with games at Elon (February 21), UNCW (February 26), and Campbell (March 3).
