VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – North Carolina A&T junior Jason Holmes was the only athlete from the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Holmes qualified for the championships in the men's 60-meter hurdles, marking the second straight season he qualified. Holmes competed on Friday and failed to advance out of the preliminary and into the finals.

There were two 60H heats on Friday. The top two from each heat are automatic qualifiers for the finals. The next best four times after those qualifiers also go into the final. Holmes placed 12th overall and sixth in the second heat by running a 7.64. He also finished 12th last season at the NCAA indoor championships, but he did lower his time after running a 7.74 in 2024.

Holmes will earn second-team All-American honors for the second consecutive season, adding to an impressive résumé since he arrived on the east side of Greensboro. Holmes earned his way to the 2025 NCAA indoor championships by running the eighth-fastest time in the nation, 7.56. He opened the season by going 3-0 in the 60H finals, including wins at the Clemson Opener, the Gamecock Opener (University of South Carolina), and the Corky Classic (Texas Tech).

Holmes entered the 2025 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships as the favorite in the 60H and delivered, winning his second straight CAA 60H title by running a 7.78 in the final. As a freshman, Holmes won bronze at CAAs, running a 7.91 in 2023.

At the 2025 CAA indoors, he placed second in the 60 meters with a personal-best 6.72 and finished second in the 200m with a personal record of 20.81. He will enter the outdoor season as a sophomore looking to qualify for his second straight NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for June 11-14 at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
