CLEMSON, SC – Graduate jumper My'Khiyah Williams took center stage on Saturday during the second day of Clemson University's Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.
On Saturday, Williams secured the North Carolina A&T's sole win from the men's or women's indoor track and field teams at Clemson. Williams managed a personal record of 5 feet, 8 ¾ inches to title the women's high jump and move from No. 10 in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) rankings to No. 4. Senior teammate Spirit Morgan competed against Williams, finishing third by recording a leap of 5 feet, 7 ¼ inches.
Shining on the track, sophomore Nakhi Benjamin ran a personal-record 20.88 in the men's 200m to place third. Benjamin will take the top spot in the conference from junior teammate Jason Holmes (20.94) and move to No. 25 nationally.
Sophomore Xzaviah Taylor, sophomore Isaiah Taylor, sophomore Dyimond Walker, and freshman Elijah Thomas made enormous gains for the men's 4x400-meter relay team by marking a season-low of 3:06.08 while finishing seventh. The men's team was recently ranked 51st in the country but now sits at No. 22.
Graduate thrower Julieth Nwosu threw a season-best 52 feet, 7 ¼ inches in the women's shot put to land in second place. Nwosu has been leading the conference since the beginning of the season when she recorded 52 feet, 4 inches at the 2025 Gamecock Opener.
On the men's side, senior Carlos Alexander's best throw measured at 56 feet, 1 ¾ inches to set his indoor personal record, and freshman Alex Henry threw 54 feet, 3 ¾ inches to set his personal best. Alexander finished fifth, and Henry placed eighth.
Senior Brayden Hodgest qualified to compete in the shot put invite rather than the general shot put event. Hodgest finished seventh overall with a throw of 58 feet, 6 ¾ inches, marking his second-best collegiate throw and, thus, the new second-best throw in program history. Hodgest holds the top six throws in program history.
In the women's 800m, senior Fajr Kelly ran a personal record of 2:05.31. The time moves her into the No. 1 ranking in the conference.
The next time the two programs compete will be at the 2025 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for Feb. 26-27 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
