GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men's basketball schedule is complete. After tying up some loose ends with the non-conference schedule and with the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) releasing the conference schedule for every team two weeks ago, the Aggies have a 32-game schedule that includes 14 home games, two ACC schools, three home games against HBCUs, two home games against archrivals, and the Aggies will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to face the University of Arkansas's first-year head coach John Calipari.
"We have once again put our players in a position that they will be challenged on a nightly basis with our non-conference schedule, said Monté Ross, who is entering his second season as the Aggies head coach. "We want to be as prepared as possible for CAA play, and this difficult schedule will definitely do that for us."
The Aggies 2024-25 season opener will be a showdown between the nation's oldest Historically Black College or University (HBCU), Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, and the nation's current largest HBCU (student population), North Carolina A&T State University.
Cheyney was established in 1837, and A&T enrolls more than 14,000 students. The game will take place Monday, November from Corbett Sports Center at 7 p.m. A&T then goes on the road for three straight games, starting with a game at Wake Forest on Thursday, November 7 at 7 p.m. The Aggies will travel to George Washington (November 12) and The Citadel (November 17) before returning home to play former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opponent Morgan State on Wednesday, November 20 at 7 p.m.
A&T will embark on another three-game road trip after playing the Bears, including its first conference game, which will be at Hampton on December 3. Before playing the Bears, the Aggies will play at Buffalo (November 25) and East Carolina (November 29).
In an unusual occurrence, the Aggies will have three home games in December; two will be huge rivalry games, and one CBS will nationally televise. The UNC Greensboro Spartans will visit #ClubCorbett on Saturday, December 7 at 2 p.m.
Three weeks later, the Aggies and archnemesis North Carolina Central University (NCCU) will play in the CBS Sports Classic: HBCU Showcase, a men's college basketball doubleheader highlighting the HBCU experience. The Aggies and the Eagles will play at 2 p.m., from Corbett before Howard plays at Hampton, starting at 4 p.m.
The Aggies will host Coastal Carolina between the rivalry games on Tuesday, December 17. A&T's other road games in December include games at Virginia Tech (December 12), at Liberty (December 14), and at Arkansas (December 21).
CAA play begins on Thursday, January 2 at 7 p.m., when the Aggies host another local school at Corbett, the Elon Phoenix. It will start a three-game homestand that includes Drexel (January 4) and the University of Delaware (January 9). A&T's other home contests in the conference are against Monmouth (January 16), Hampton (January 20), UNC Wilmington (January 30), College of Charleston (February 15), Campbell (January 20), and Stony Brook (January 22).
A&T's road conference schedule starts with a January 11 game at William & Mary. Twelve days later, the Aggies will play at Towson on January 23 before traveling north to play Stony Brook on January 25. The Aggies will go on the road for three straight road games from February 6-February 13, but not far as they travel to Charleston (February 6), Campbell (February 8), and Elon (February 13). The remaining two road games are at Northeastern (February 27) and at Hofstra (March 1).
The 2025 CAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament will occur March 7-11 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
