BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – North Carolina A&T played its final Big South Conference women's tennis match of the season, as the GordnerWebb Running Bulldogs defeated the Aggies 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the Webb Tennis Complex.
The Aggies dropped to 0-13 overall and 0-8 in the Big South.
The action started with the doubles competitions, but only one match reached its conclusión. Doubles No. 2 finished with Manon Delsol and Elin Hellberg defeating A&T freshman Cielo Tapia Cruz and senior
Florielvis Hurtado Pernaleta 6-2.
Senior
Marlene Estenssoro Pineda and sophomore Manuela Jimenez trailed 5-2 to Teodora Ristic and Maria Jardim before the match was suspended. In addition, the Aggies had to forfeit the No. 3 doubles match.
In singles competition, Jimenez started things with a loss to Delsol 6-0, 6-2. Hurtado's loss followed at No. 1 singles as Ristic defeated her 6-1, 6-0.

The Bulldogs also won at No. 5 singles as Elise Semmartin defeated junior
Trinity Oliver, 6-0, 6-2. Estenssoro concluded her match against Hellberg at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 loss.
The last singles match of the day occurred at No. 3 singles. Tapia-Cruz lost to Jardim 6-1, 6-2. Tapia Cruz dropped to 6-6 overall and 2-6 in Big South play.Â
A&T will be back in action Tuesday, April 5 at Winston-Salem State University at 4 p.m. It will be the team's season finale.
