NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES STORYLINES

  • Head coach Tarrell Robinson is in his 11th season. He is the program's all-time winningest coach with 194 wins. He set the record at South Carolina State after a 68-49 victory in Orangeburg, S.C., for his 192nd win.
  • Robinson has a 194-112 overall record and has made three NCAA Tournament appearances, three postseason WNIT appearances, three conference tournament championships and four regular-season conference championships.
  • Robinson is looking to become the third A&T basketball coach – men or women – to reach 200 wins, joining men's basketball coaches Cal Irvin and Don Corbett.
  • In addition, he has a 101-27 record in Corbett Sports Center. The Aggies 89-38 win against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Nov. 15 gave Robinson his 100th win in Corbett Sports Center, making him the first women's coach to reach the milestone.
  • Jazmin Harris is averaging 16.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks, and she is shooting 58.3 (28-for-48) percent from the floor in her last four games.
  • Three Aggies have recorded their first collegiate start this season. Freshmen Chaniya Clark and Taliya Council started against Johnson & Wales (Dec. 10). Sophomore Laila Acox started against Cincinnati (Dec. 1).
  • The Aggies have a 589-576 record and need 11 wins for 600 in program history.
  • A&T's next game is on Dec. 30, hosting Elon at 6 p.m. in Corbett Sports Center to begin the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) schedule.

SCOUTING THE NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL EAGLES

  • North Carolina Central University (NCCU) enters the game on a two-game winning streak, with wins over Appalachian State (72-70) in Durham and at Western Carolina (74-66).

  • The Eagles received two weekly Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) awards on Monday. The conference named Kimeira Burks (MEAC) player of the week and Jerni Kiaku rookie of the week. Kiaku averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals, and Burks averaged 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals last week.

THE SERIES

  • A&T leads the series 33-9, including a 13-3 record in Durham, N.C.
  • The Aggies have won the last five meetings, including a 60-55 victory last season in Greensboro.
  • The last NCCU win was during the 2019-20 season when the Eagles won all three meetings, including a 56-54 victory in the first round of the 2020 MEAC Tournament.

QUOTABLE

"It's a much-needed quick turnaround after our last outing in Greenville. We hope to put that performance behind us and rise to the occasion for our biggest in-state rival."
