Women's Tennis Releases 2023 Schedule

The Aggies first home match is March 14 against Morgan State.

Cielo Tapia-Cruz and the Aggies open the 2023 season Feb. 16.

EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T women's tennis released its 2023 spring schedule on Monday. It features six home matches.

Twelve of the 14 scheduled matches are in North Carolina, with a trip to Bluefield, W. Va., and Norfolk, Va., as the only trips out of state.

The Aggies start the season with a four-match road swing beginning with a trip to Rocky Mount, N.C., to face North Carolina Wesleyan on Feb. 16. The road trip also includes matches at Mt. Olive (Feb. 19), at Queens University (March 1) and at North Carolina Central University (March 4)

The home opener is on March 14 against Morgan State at 1 p.m. It is the start of a four-match homestand that includes matches against Gardner-Webb (March 15), Norfolk State (March 19) and Longwood (March 21).

A&T is a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) member, but women's and men's tennis in the CAA are unique. CAA teams are not mandated to play a conference schedule because the school locations are far apart. Plus, all 12 women's and 10 men's teams advance to the CAA tournament.

The women's tournament is scheduled for April 20-23 at Mackesy Tennis Center in Williamsburg, Va.

The Aggies will play some CAA competition throughout the regular season, however. They will travel to Elon, N.C., to play CAA opponent Delaware on March 29 at 4 p.m. Women's tennis may add more CAA teams to its schedule as the season progresses.

The Aggies have two more home matches on their schedule, starting with Lenoir-Rhyne on April 4 at 1 p.m. The other home match is against CAA foe Hampton on April 15 at 11 a.m.

A&T's final three home matches are at Bluefield State (April 7), at Norfolk State (April 7) and at Shaw University (April 12).
