EAST GREENSBORO – Patti Raduenz resigned as the head softball coach at North Carolina A&T, Director of Athletics Earl M. Hilton III announced on Tuesday. Hilton also announced the appointment of Diego Ibarra as the interim head A&T softball coach. 

Raduenz became the fourth A&T head softball coach since the fastpitch era began in 1994 when she was announced on July 22, 2019. She spent three seasons at A&T, including the COVID-19-pandemic-shortened season of 2020. In 2021, Raduenz went 10-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) as the Aggies earned the Southern Division crown. She finished her time at A&T with a 28-85 record. She is 302-410 in 14 seasons as a head coach. 

Ibarra's most recent stint occurred at Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) member school UNC Wilmington. Ibarra spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach for the Seahawks. He spent the previous five seasons at CAA member school Hofstra. 

The Pride won 107 games and made three CAA tournament appearances during his time there. In 2018, Hofstra went 41-14, won the CAA title, and earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. 

The A&T softball team is scheduled to begin its season at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex on Feb. 10 as a part of the three-day Aggie Invitational.
