NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (5-10, 2-3 Big South):Â The Aggies won their second consecutive Big South Conference game after an 87-64 win against Winthrop in Corbett Sports Center. The Aggies have scored 80-plus points in back-to-back games with their lineup intact.Â
Shareka McNeill led the Aggies with a Division I career-high 26 points, shooting 10-for-19 from the floor and 6-for-15 from 3-point range. Chanin Scott added a double-double with 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Faith Blackstone scored in double-figures for the second straight game with 12 points. Jazmin Harris scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game with 12 points.Â
Head coach Tarrell Robinson enters his 10th season with a 180-102 overall record and is coming off his third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship last season. In Corbett Sports Center, the Aggies have a 96-25 record under Robinson.
UNC ASHEVILLE BULLDOGS (7-11, 2-5 Big South):Â After winning the Big South opener, 69-60, over Radford, UNC Asheville has lost five of the last six games, including a 69-54 loss against Presbyterian the last time out.
Nadiria Evans leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 17.9 points per game. In addition, she is second on the team in rebounding (5.6). Kai Carter is the top rebounder at 5.9 rebounds per game while averaging 14.4 points. Â
Honey Brown is in her second year as a head coach and has a 17-26 record. Last season, UNC Asheville went 10-15 overall, including a 9-10 Big South record. Â
THE SERIES:Â Â Tuesday will mark the ninth meeting between the two schools. The Bulldogs and Aggies have evenly split the first eight meetings. UNC Asheville is 3-1 against A&T in Asheville, but the Aggies defeated the Bulldogs in the last meeting on Nov. 18, 2014, 63-46.Â
