 NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (3-10, 0-3 Big South): The Aggies held a six-point lead at USC Upstate heading into the final quarter Saturday, but the Spartans outscored the Aggies 27-18 in the final quarter for the 67-64 win.
 
In her first Big South game, Chanin Scott led the Aggies with 13 points and added five rebounds. Jazmin Harris added 11 points and six rebounds, and Kiana Adderton recorded her third consecutive double-figure scoring game with 10 points.
 
Head coach Tarrell Robinson enters his 10th season with a 178-102 overall record and is coming off his third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship last season. In Corbett Sports Center, the Aggies have a 94-25 record under Robinson.
 
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN BUCCANEERS (1-15, 1-4 Big South): The Bucs defeated Winthrop 67-54 as their first win of the season came in their Big South opener. They have lost four straight since earning the win.
 
Alyssia Faye scoring 8.3 points per game and grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game leads the Bucs. Tori Gittens averages 7.1 points and 2.2 rebounds, and Skylar Baltezegar averages 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds.
 
Clarisse Garcia is in her first year as a head coach at Charleston Southern. She is the 16th head coach in CSU history. In addition, she has served as an assistant coach at Auburn, Wake Forest and Alabama. 
 
THE SERIES:  Charleston Southern leads the series, 3-2, with each team winning their respective games on their home floors. The two schools last met on Nov. 29, 2004, where the Bucs won 77-48. 

QUOTABLE: "Our goal is to put two halves together against Charleston Southern. In our last game, we played the type of defense we wanted to play in the first half, only to give up that same amount in the fourth quarter. We have to finish games better."

GAME NOTES: 
  • In the last three games, Kiana Adderton is averaging 12.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 steals with two double-doubles.
  • Chanin Scott is averaging 15.3 points per game in her last eight games, including six double-figure scoring games. She is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game in her last eight, with 10-plus rebounds in three of them. 
  • The Aggies have not played at home since Dec. 29, 2021. 
  • Under head coach Tarrell Robinson, the Aggies have never started 0-3 or worse in conference play in his previous nine seasons.  
  • The Aggies have to make up games upcoming. They are scheduled to play a makeup game against Radford at Corbett on Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. They will then make up their game against Presbyterian on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Corbett. 
  • Robinson needs 14 wins to become the program's all-time leader in wins. He still owns the best winning percentage at .636.
