NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (3-9, 0-2 Big South): After a two-week hiatus, the Aggies are back in action with a trip to Spartanburg, S.C., to face USC Upstate.  A&T last played on Jan. 1 at Hampton, an 85-71 loss. But with COVID concerns, the Aggies postponed the next three games.

The Aggies moved the road game against Campbell from Jan. 4 to Jan. 31. The Radford game is now on Jan. 27 at Corbett Sports Center. Finally, their home game against Presbyterian is on Feb. 10.

Kiana Adderton recorded her second consecutive double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jazmin Harris added 16 points and seven rebounds at Hampton.

Head coach Tarrell Robinson enters his 10th season with a 178-101(.638) overall record and is coming off his third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship last season. In Corbett Sports Center, the Aggies have a 94-25 (.790) record under Robinson.

USC UPSTATE SPARTANS (9-4, 1-1 Big South): USC Upstate is 1-2 in the last three games after a six-game winning streak. The Spartans fell to Big South preseason favorite High Point, 83-73 inside G.B. Hodge Center.

Chellia Watson leads USC Upstate with 12.9 points per game and ranks third with 4.2 rebounds. Rachael Rose averages 12.6 points and 4.4 rebounds. Jada Logan leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game and averages 7.4 points.

Becky Burke is in her second season as USC Upstate's head coach. The Spartans won only eight games last season; therefore, they already have a one-game improvement from a year ago. Overall, Burke is 100-51 in six seasons.

THE SERIES:  The Aggies won the only meeting between the two schools, 92-54, in Corbett Sports Center on Nov. 27, 2007.

QUOTABLE: "We're excited about the opportunity to play after being off a week. We look forward to competing against a team like USC Upstate. Their overall record says they know how to win. We're going to see if we can pick back up the steam we had before Christmas break. It's still early enough for us to get in the conversation of Big South regular-season champs."

GAME NOTES:
  • In the last two games, Kiana Adderton is averaging 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.0 steals with two double-doubles.
  • Chanin Scott is averaging 15.6 points per game in her last seven games, including five double-figure games. She averages 9.0 rebounds per game in her last seven games with three games of 10-plus rebounds.
  • Under head coach Tarrell Robinson, the Aggies have never started 0-2 or worse in conference play in his previous nine seasons.
  • Robinson is 14 wins away from becoming the Aggies all-time leader in women's basketball wins. He is 22 wins shy of becoming one of only three basketball coaches in A&T history – men or women – to record 200 wins at A&T.
  • COVID and the holidays have forced the Aggies to play only two games in the past 37 days.
  • The Aggies have yet to shoot 50 percent or better this season. When the Aggies shoot better than 50 percent, they are 21-1 under Robinson.
