Aggies Look to Extend Their Three-Game Winning Streak

The Aggies defeated Elon last season.

EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T baseball team will take on the Elon Phoenix in a midweek matchup on Wednesday afternoon. Last season, the Aggies defeated the Phoenix, 3-2, on April 24, 2019.

WHO'S ON FIRE: 
Senior outfielder Camden Williamson is riding a 10-game hitting streak dating back to Feb. 15 against Butler. Junior outfielder Justin Rodriguez is coming off of a 3-for-4 performance against Power 5 opponent Boston College, an 8-5 Aggie victory. Rodriguez scored two runs and notched an RBI as well.
 
AGGIES OVERVIEW:  The Aggies are coming off a red-hot 3-0 weekend in their round-robin tournament with Fairfield and Boston College. A&T defeated the Eagles twice, once on Friday and once again on Monday and beat the Snags on Saturday. This is the second straight year the Aggies have beaten a Power Five opponent. Fifth-year head coach Ben Hall is 113-153 overall at the helm of the program, but 89-74 over the last three years. 
 
PHOENIX OVERVIEW:  The Phoenix are coming off a weekend series sweep at the hands of Indiana State. Elon was outscored 18-8 over the three-game stretch. In the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) preseason poll, the Phoenix were picked to finish tied for third alongside College of Charleston. Additionally, Elon landed four players on the preseason all-Conference team – seniors Joe Satterfield and Garrett Stonehouse, junior Jared Wetherbee and sophomore Anthony Galason. Satterfield was the team's MVP last year and is hitting .385 so far this season. Head coach Mike Kennedy is entering his 24th season as the skipper, 19 of those finishing with a winning record. His overall record is 752-576-3 at the helm of the program.
