EAST GREENSBORO – Sophomore
Vasil Ivanov has earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's tennis player of the week honors. Ivanov is the first Aggie to earn conference weekly honors this season.
"Vasil is working extremely hard on his game," said N.C. A&T coach
William Crutchfield. "Everyone is being pushed to play on another level. Much of their success can be attributed to the men's assistant coach Dejon Bivens."
Ivanov picked up two wins at No. 2 singles last week. He faced off against Radford's Yevhen Sirous and won in straight sets 6-1, 7-5. The next day, Ivanov defeated King's Sebastian Lieflander and again won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. The sophomore paired up with senior
Nicolas Arduh at No. 1 doubles and earned a point for the Aggies with a 6-1 victory.
