Aggies Face Tough FAMU Opponent In Rematch

N.C. A&T beat the Rattlers in overtime on Jan. 6 at Corbett Sports Center.

AGGIES OVERVIEW: North Carolina A&T dropped their last contest to Bethune-Cookman, 78-73, but they still sit atop the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) standings with an 8-2 conference record. Junior guard Kameron Langley, a preseason second team all-MEAC selection, is just 34 assists away from breaking N.C. A&T's all-time record held by Thomas Griffis (582). The Aggies are led by senior forward Ronald Jackson who leads the team in points (14.0) and rebounds per game (10.6). Acting head coach Will Jones is 9-3 since taking over the team in late December. The Aggies and the Rattlers clashed back on Jan. 6 with the Aggies coming away with a 97-90 overtime win. Tyler Maye had a career-high 24 points for N.C. A&T and Ronald Jackson, Andre Jackson and Langley had 16 points apiece. Ronald Jackson added 16 rebounds.

RATTLERS OVERVIEW: The Rattlers needed overtime to defeat Howard, 82-78, on Feb. 8. FAMU is fifth in the MEAC with a 6-4 record. The Rattlers were projected to finish ninth in the league's preseason poll. FAMU has one preseason All-MEAC selection on their team in MJ Randolph (third team). Randolph is second on the team in points per game (12.4). Rod Melton averages a team-high 12.6 points per game to lead the Rattlers. Their leading rebounder is DJ Jones who hauls in 6.4 boards per contest. Third-year head coach Robert McCullum has an overall record of 27-47 during his tenure and a 22-19 record in the MEAC.
