Box Score Montego Bay – The N.C. A&T Aggies scored 21 points off of turnovers but fell 58-54 to the Eastern Michigan Eagles on the road Sunday.
The defeat dropped N.C. A&T's overall record to 2-5.
The Aggies had three players score in double figures, led by Ronald Jackson, who secured a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Devin Haygood added 12 points and six rebounds and Fred Cleveland helped out with 11 points and three steals off of the bench.
N.C. A&T collected 32 rebounds in Sunday's game compared to Eastern Michigan's 29, led by Jackson's 11 boards.
N.C. A&T forced 20 Eastern Michigan turnovers while committing 16 themselves in Sunday's game. The Aggies turned those takeaways into 21 points on the offensive end of the floor. Cleveland led the way individually with three steals.
After jumping out to a 14-9 advantage, N.C. A&T went on a 6-0 run with 10:56 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Andre Jackson, to increase its lead to 20-9. The Aggies then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 32-26.
Eastern Michigan kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 52-45 advantage before N.C. A&T went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Tyler Maye's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 52-51 with 5:08 to go in the contest. Eastern Michigan responded and outscored the Aggies the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 58-54. N.C. A&T capitalized on 11 Eastern Michigan turnovers in the period, collecting 12 points off those turnovers.
The Aggies are back in action on Nov. 30 when they return home to play Jacksonville at 2 p.m., at Corbett Sports Center.
