Aggies Softball Releases 2020 Schedule

EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T first-year head softball coach Patti Raduenz will make her Aggies debut at her former school. The Aggies released their 2020 schedule on Thursday. It includes 18 home games at the Lady Aggie Softball Complex.

Raduenz, who coached at Elon University from 2001-11, will open the season at Elon on Feb. 12. Twenty-two of the Aggies first 23 games are on the road including a tournament hosted by the Charlotte 49ers, Feb. 14-16.

N.C. A&T begins the 49ers tournament with a doubleheader against Morehead State and Rhode Island. The Aggies host their home opener against Winthrop on Feb. 19 before returning to the road for the Charleston Tournament in Charleston, S.C., from Feb. 21-23. N.C. A&T will face two Charleston universities in Charleston Southern and College of Charleston as a part of the tournament.

The next six games are in North Carolina with a crosstown trip to UNC Greensboro Feb. 26 before traveling to Raleigh for the N.C. State tournament from Feb. 28-March 1. They will play host N.C. State on March 1 at 3 pm.

The final non-conference tournament of the season is the Florida Spring Games tourney in Longwood, Fla., from March 6-8. 

After weeks of tournament play, the Aggies will finally get to play at home on March 13 as they start a three-game series with Furman at 4 p.m. They will play Furman in a 1 p.m., Saturday doubleheader at the Lady Aggie Softball Complex. Four days later, the Aggies will host Elon on March 18 at 4 p.m.

Their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener is next as they travel to Princess Anne, Md., to face Maryland Eastern Shore in a three-game series starting March 21. The Aggies will take a break from conference play to play N.C. State for the second time in 2020 on March 25 in Raleigh at 5 p.m.

There will be three other non-conference opponents in Appalachian State (April 1 doubleheader), Gardner-Webb (April 7) and Western Carolina (April 21). All four games are at home.

In conference play, the Aggies will host S.C. State (March 28-29), Delaware State (April 18-19) and N.C. Central (May 1-2). They will go on the road for MEAC series at Morgan State (April 4-5) and Norfolk State (April 25-26).

The MEAC tournament is May 5-9 in Ormond Beach, Fla., as Bethune-Cookman University will serve as host.
