BOILING SPRINGS (March 16, 2017) – The North Carolina A&T men's tennis team dropped to 0-8 on the season with a 7-0 loss on Thursday against the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb University.

Nicolas Arduh occupied the No. 1 spot for N.C. A&T losing to Gardner-Webb's Maximilian Scholl 6-4, 6-0. Jorge Bartra took his match to three sets in the No. 2 position against Paul Hogan but came up short 6-3, 6-4 (7-10). At No. 3, freshman Niko Barr lost to Adam Schmidt 6-0, 6-2. At No. 4, John Wilson IV lost to Ross Gilbert, 6-1, 6-0. Junior Brett Caban lost 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 5 singles spot to Anthony Brennan. Rounding out singles play for the Aggies at No. 6, Jordan Lawrence lost to Johan Fors 6-0, 6-0 and Keiston France lost at No. 7 against Stefano Puga with a final score of 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles play went similarly for the Aggies as Arduh and Nikko Barr lost to Hogan and Fors at the No. 1 spot 6-3. Bartra and Wilson lost to Scholl and Gilbert at the No. 2 spot 6-1. Caban and Lawrence came together at No. 3 before ultimately losing 6-4 against the Runnin' Bulldogs duo or Puga and Plentz.

N.C. A&T returns to action 1 p.m., Saturday when they travel to Radford, Va., to take on Radford University.
