GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men's tennis player Lucas Coupo-Moison ended his collegiate career with a win and a postseason Coastal Athletic Association accolade.
The CAA recently released its postseason men's tennis honors, with Coupo-Moison earning third-team All-CAA honors as a singles player. It continued a trend that started in 2019 of men's tennis players earning postseason honors after years of going without postseason recognition.
Coupo-Moison spent most of his A&T career at the top of the lineup, primarily as the Aggies No. 2 singles player. However, he took on a new role in 2025, mainly playing as A&T's No. 1. Coupo-Moison went 11-8 overall and 6-5 as the Aggies No. 1 player.
Among his big wins as the Aggies No. 1 singles player came on March 28 when he defeated Hampton's Donte Armbrister 6-2, 6-2. He also had an impressive win over Campbell's No. 1, Thomas Drapeau, 7-5, 7-6. His final match as an Aggie came on April 15 as the Aggies No. 2 player. He defeated North Carolina Wesleyan's Luca Knese.
As a doubles player, Coupo-Moison went 13-4 in 2025. He went 12-4 with freshman Jindrich Brill. They went 11-4 from the No. 2 doubles position. Coupo-Moison finished his career with a 24-11 overall and 18-6 from the No. 2 singles position. He was 22-11 as a doubles player.
In 2019, Vasil Ivanov laid the groundwork for a men's tennis resurgence, earning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year and first-team all-conference honors.
Ivanov and Esteban Lopez earned first-team All-Big South Conference doubles accolades in 2022. The duo also earned first-team All-Big South recognition as singles players. Lopez earned second-team All-CAA honors as a singles and doubles player the following season. Ivanov earned second-team honors as a doubles player, and Eder Blanco was on the All-CAA third team as a singles player.
Lopez repeated as second-team All-CAA in 2024.
"It's so fitting to have Lucas receive the recognition he deserves," said A&T head men's tennis coach Dejon Bivens. "He beat CAA opponents in straight sets at the No. 1 spot – truly amazing and expected.
He is very skilled. It's a fitting send-off to a guy who really wanted to be in the background and play a support character but stepped up to play big. More than anything, he loved his team and A&T. I could not be more excited."
