BOONE, N.C. – The North Carolina A&T men's tennis team hit the road for the first time this season, but came away with a 7-0 defeat to Appalachian State. The Mountaineers swept all six singles matches and then took the doubles point to earn their totals.

For the second straight match, freshman Dreshaun Jarmon had the No. 1 singles responsibilities. For the second straight match, Jarmon looked strong in the first set, dropping it 6-2 to Appalachian State's Oliver Casey. But in the second set, Casey got the best Jarmon beating him 6-0.

For the second straight week, freshman John Wilson IV had the most competitive singles match. He lost to Zach Bost 6-3, 6-2. Wilson also lost 6-3, 6-2 in the Aggies first match of the season against the Big Ten's Michigan State.

The Aggies only 6-0, 6-0 loss came during No. 6 singles. The Mountaineers (2-1) were dominant in doubles competition, where they won No. 1 doubles 6-1, No. 2 doubles 6-0 and No. 3 doubles 6-1. The Aggies dropped to 0-2 on the season and will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., on Sat., Jan. 31 to face Wofford at 12:30 p.m.
